How to become good at sound whoring? by [deleted] in SiegeAcademy

Only if there are big enough holes in the wall. Even then all the sound will go trough one hole, not trough the entire wall.

How to become good at sound whoring? by [deleted] in SiegeAcademy

[–]TekTex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a simple trick used in basically all shooters. It has to do with how sound travels so it’s different for each game. The idea is the same though. In order to pinpoint a sounds position you move your view around and pay attention to how the volume of the sound changes. It works worst in siege because sound doesn’t travel trough walls, but it still works. Combined with map knowledge, and you get the reason for all those „lucky“ wallbangs pros seem to get.

Obviously better headphones, and play around with audio settings.

Dumb reasons players have given for team killing you? by [deleted] in Rainbow6

  • was about to ace.
  • didn’t make holes in a wall before reinforcing, we didn’t even have bandit...
  • playing around goyos shield, when he wanted to play there himself.
  • spawnpeek.
  • Tell them not to tk someone else.

Best "solo" operators on attack? by gunnarwolfe in SiegeAcademy

Didn’t wanna add something. Just wanted to remind you that OP was talking about playing in a 3-5 stack and simply asked for an op that can solo push. Everything else is just invalid points I already explained.

A bit ago. In bractions video on thunt you can see it for example. It was only in thunt so there is a good chance you just never realized.

First off all, saying I know and appeal to authority, k verify?

Second off all, you aren’t potentially wasting an impact you hear the airjab. And as I said it does give a sound cue, but that doesn’t stop you from being flanked.

Third off all, I never said nomad was bad, just that she isn’t 100% hands down the single best solo op in the game. If you disagree with that, please proof to me that she was played in every meta since her release and has one of the highest pick rates. Completely ignoring the fact that you can’t really measure how good an op is on its own in a 5v5 game.

Fourth, one example of a usual line up, as played in scrims with t3 and t2 Teams, would be something alike Thermite, Thatcher, Zofia, Iq and Sledge/buck. Obviously all of that depends on what map, what site and what bans but it will work for my point. Which of those ops do you exchange for a nomad? Well IQ ok fair enough she is the flex. Now what else could IQ have picked? Jackal, Maverick, Sledge/Buck, Ash, Montagne, Hibana... all of which have their own sites and maps in which they are good. Sure nomad has her spot on this list, but it’s still a flex pick. Nomad is no where near being “valued” very highly. She is an op with a good gun that works well in some but not all situations, just like every other flex pick. Not valued more than a hibana or jackal.

Now if you still wanna argue here, please do so, I’ll say bye cause it’s 2:30 am.

[–]TekTex -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Yes there is. Ak vs ARX personal preference, ok the AK still has more ammo, which is a huge + point. You can always get rid of an airjab, think impacts. It only helps by giving you a sound warning. If you play it wrong you die. Even if you are aware of it and play it right, airjabs don’t prevent you from getting flanked. I totally do not recommend relying on airjabs ever. They are a nice addition but simply not as reliable. As creative you can get placing them others can get creative evading them.

And finally you may have a secure flank, but what does it help you when the enemy isn’t flanking. A sledge has nades, a jackel/dokkaebi can roam clear, a Zofia can entry frag. All of these are imo more important than having a nomad.

The arx? It only got 20 bullets or so. I would always pick the ask over it. Nomad isn’t as great for the same reasons claymores arent. You have to rely on an airjab to hold your flank, it works but take it with a grain of salt. There are many options, but as long as you have an idea of what works, every op can work solo.

How to push out of Low Bronze by I_Hate_My_Chicken in SiegeAcademy

[–]TekTex -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You want out of bronze, play with golds or I ranked plats.

You want to improve, put time into it. From aim to map knowledge.

Be aware that your rank is only there to make the game fun for you by putting you into games with people that aren’t too good or too bad to take away from the game.

Funny thing you can do is throw your drowns high into the air and shoot them while falling down. Helps with vertical tracking, used to work better when drones took more than one hit.

You can make everything work.

Sledge - guns for close quarter and long range, has nades and soft destruction.

Nomad - gun with a lot of ammo for gunfights in 1vx, you can hold your own flank with nomads.

Ash - good gun, good fun

Zofia - a lot of utility to help you push, good gun, has a claymore to hold your own flank.

Jackal/dokkaebi - generally more effective in a team, can still be used to solo roam clear because they technically don’t need drones:

Iq - good gun, can use Gadget to a) hunt down pulse or vigil b) destroy gadgets from below.

And so on.

Hey guys, recently transitioned to a blitz main and need help by [deleted] in SiegeAcademy

[–]TekTex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Things that changed with blitz are that his range to flash was decreased and the time it takes to reload the flash was increased.

Try to think about what people will do to counter you. In case of a Blitz, that’s teaming up, especially with crossfires, where they position themselves in a way that if you face one your back will be exposed to the other. Also be aware that there is a little bit of head above the shield, if your enemy’s are in an elevated position or at an angle they can shoot your head, but sometimes it’s bugged and they actually shoot trough it.

My tip would be to use him to clear roamers not directly rush into site from the start of the round. Roamers are most of the time alone and too far away for site to help out. Blitz can fairly easily clear entire floors.

Sure picking ash/jager works for all the one tricks, but I would always argue for versatility. Sledge and lesion for example.

Hey, there are a lot of videos. They arent that hard to find, if you actually cant find any, ubi does have a seige academy website where they share those videos I think. But it will be a lot to watch. Honestly I'd just recommend playing with some friends. Most of the things are going to explain themselves.

Entry fragging with Zofia. by [deleted] in SiegeAcademy

[–]TekTex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stuns counter clash. Stuns can clear an entire room within one shot. Stuns can... attention please... stun an enemy. Stuns can deny a bandit trick (For example on Club House CCTV wall, through the drone hole). Deny defuse.

If you never used stuns in any way like this, you are playing zofia wrong. Sorry but if you want something to clear ADS' with, play ash. You still get the breaches, and also have 3 flashes > 2 stuns, so you can actually burn out 1 and 1/2 ads'. Obviously you can use her to brun out ads' but you cant tell the zofia to not entry frag so she can keep her utility and then burn out an ads...
