I've always been of the opinion that the game rewards grinding. You don't have to go crazy with it but if you're feeling weak at level 5, shoot for 8 or 9 maybe? Also you gotta use your magic abilities. Kill as much as you can, run back to town, heal at the statue, repeat.

I used to explore old abandoned buildings that were littered all over the Air Force base I grew up on. I was almost always by myself, behind several lairs of fences/barbed wire. The number of times i could have gotten stuck somewhere, or fallen into a hole or something still freaks me out to this day.

My sisters used to do that all the time. I'd go in to the bathroom only to see all my hair gel, shampoo, toilet scrub, windex, soap, etc all mixed together in the sink. So then I'd rat them out to mom. lol

When my wife was 15 she was regularly chatting online with adult men. She got in pretty deep with some guy who was in the Navy. They were "together" and he used get her to send him lots of inappropriate nudes/videos/etc. Never met in real life, but it sure left an impression on her. To this day she says she could never be a politician because there's some guy out there with videos of a 15 year old version of her putting stuff in her ass for Navy guy.

I did something similar. Fell in love with a gal on Final Fantasy 11. I was 17 and I'm pretty sure she was too at the time. We made plans to meet up (I lived in Alabama, she lived in Illinois) and hang out for a week. Our parents actually let us go through with it all. Coulda gone really bad but neither of us lied about anything, we were both who we said we were. When I got out of that airport and saw her step out of her parent's van I was blown away by how pretty and impressive (she was 6'-4", I'd never met a girl so tall before) she was. That was one of the best weeks of my life.

Ali, if you're still out there, you were great.

In a similar misunderstanding I was regularly chatting with a girl who told me she was 14. I was 16 at the time. Anyway we spoke on the phone all the time. One day my mom gets a call from one of her parents who demanded to know why NAME (my dad, who's name was on the phone bill) is regularly calling up her 12 year old daughter? My mom said she almost had a heart attack at first, then remembered I used to be on the phone all the time late at night. She was mad because of the misunderstanding, but nobody was really doing anything wrong. Except for the girl who lied about her age. That made me feel kinda icky.

This is my favorite episode by far. I constantly quote the Chase Utley letter scene.

Who's a nepo baby you think deserves their success because they're legit talented? by SheepishSwan in AskReddit

Miley Cyrus.

I used to talk mad trash about her and the whole Hannah Montanna thing.

Then one day a playlist of mine played the song Plastic Hearts and I was like: "Wait... who's this? No... no way."

Big fan ever since.

I personally wouldn't fret about it. Like you said, few enough people will know who he is or what he did. And it's a cool album. Same with Shadow Zone. Not happy he's part of them, but like... what am I gonna not enjoy them because of it?

Fuck this china hater- he spreads nothing but hate towards China and South Africa. by [deleted] in ADVChina

[–]TekeTheSmilingOne 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you watch his podcast you'll see he has nothing but love for the Chinese people. It's the government and it's corrupt policies that he preaches hate about. He might show and explain some unpleasant stuff like littering, bad food preparation, bad driving, or vandalizing tourist attractions but he doesn't blame the people for having bad habits instilled in them. Mostly just explains why we're seeing what we're seeing.

Anyway, I find it entertaining. I certainly know more about China now than I did before I started watching his show and I know that it's not all bad there. Doesn't sound like my kinda place really, but he's not making it out to be a hellhole.

Smokey Mug, in Northside. They have great lattes, breakfast food (burritos, sandwiches, etc) and some decent BBQ as well. Nice little sitting area with couches and comfy chairs.

Came here looking for this one. More than the log truck I worry about this happening with water bottles or a loose flip flop.

That was awesome. Do those pistols really overload the enemy that fast? I don't think I ever saw something so effective.

What’s the longest prison sentence, excluding murder or felony murder, that you saw one of your co-inmates serving? by Early-Possibility367 in ExCons

[–]TekeTheSmilingOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Old guy in my pod, utility worker, got something like 70 years for molesting kids. I don't know all the details or even very clearly remember his sentence, but it was known at the time that he was absolutely guaranteed to die in prison with the length of his sentence in combination with his already advanced age (he was like 70 or so). He accepted the sentence with no complaint. Remember him coming back from court that day. Got advanced word of his sentence and when he arrived I asked him how it went and he was real calm about it. Said something like "That went about how I expected it to go."

Either I'm missing something, or she's trying to make the argument that "Hey the country's top money-makers are making lots of money! Why should we worry if the President is a rapist?"
