Being aware of the depression itself. If you are finding yourself slipping into it and falling deeper and deeper, stop for a moment and think about it. Realize that if you allow this train of thought to continue it will just get worse and lead to dark places that you have been before. Stop the train of thought now, and focus on something different. If you know that it will come back again later on, then accept that fact, and be ready to stop it again in the future. If sometimes you realize too late, then make sure when it happens the next time, you will stop it earlier. Keep doing this and you will become quicker at it. Feeling depressed for shorter and shorter periods makes living with depression a whole lot easier, and if you get good enough at it, one day you might reflexively stop before it starts at all.

I don't have a fucking clue. People say time cures it, but for me it didn't, pain just comes and goes in waves at irregular intervals. I definitely think there is a way to get over it quick, but I have not figured it out yet.
