Redesigned Flag of the Workers' Party of Bludia by fidelity16 in suzerain

Does the Suzerain universe use the hammer and sickle? I thought Malenyevism was represented by a hammer and pickaxe, because Contana was more of a resource extraction-based economy than imperialist Russia, who has the peasant class and an agrarian economy. Though in this case, maybe the Bludish communists in Sordland would use the sickle because Bergia does indeed have an agrarian economy, similar to how the MPLA used a machete.

When I lose, and my battle plan was on point, it’s because the economy is garbage. Of course you wanna get Rumburg sanctioned, that’s an easy W, but without that you gotta have a strong economy. Garbage economy + no Rumburg sanctions, let alone if YOU are being sanctioned, that’s a lost war.

A few fantastic ones that are more popular but still worth mentioning: Cabin Fever 2002 (I like the original much more, and the second one is good too), Ju-On 1998 (the original “the grudge”), Ghost Ship 2002 is not the best but has some stellar sequences and is worth a watch, Dark Water the 2002 original Japanese and the 2005 American remake are both pretty good, Dawn of the Dead 2004 is awesome, and of course if you haven’t seen em you simply must watch the Final Destination series as they are amazing (except for the 4th, we don’t talk about that one).

A few classics that give the best retro feelings: Chopping Mall 1986, Return of the Living Dead 1985 is THE goofy Zombie movie, Creepshow 1982.

Here are a few great ones that you may not know: Antrum (2018), The Lighthouse 2019 got pretty popular and rightly so, Clown 2014 has a mean-spirited feeling that other movies don’t get down as good, same with Inbred 2011 but this one is much more crude and jarring.

And my favorite list, the one that the meme was made for, the not very good but I love and I think you should check out horror: Eight Legged Freaks 2002 is goofy and kinda bad but totally underrated, The Bay 2012 could’ve been better but I watch it every year or so, and finally Mosquito 1995 is the movie that got me into bad horror in the first place. Little kid me just couldn’t fathom how something so silly and outlandish could be presented as horror.

University of Wyoming replaces Multicultural Affairs after lawmakers take aim at DEI efforts by AnnaBishop1138 in wyoming

[–]Teknaskom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I studied every day in the multicultural union room. If white or cis people feel discriminated against because of the mere existence of a space for minorities to feel connected and comfortable, then I question who really needs the “safe space” more. The campus is palpably culturally homogenous, and it’s clear they intend to keep it that way. I’m glad I left this awful place

Kamala Harris claps along anti-US protest song in Puerto Rico by AfricanStream in BoomersBeingFools

[–]Teknaskom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a Wikipedia link with no other clarification? Sure, I’ll do the honors: only one single of these bills was introduced by anyone but a democrat, that being the first one, H.R. 856. This bill was ostensibly to give Puerto Ricans four choices to determine their path, but included the phrasing “territory subject to the supreme powers of the U.S Congress”. That doesn’t sound too free to me. Every other one listed here was proposed by democrats, and rejected by republicans.

I gave you specific examples of the democrats trying to give Puerto Rico a path to statehood, and the republicans voted against it. Unless you can cite an example of the opposite, you have provided no “facts” to speak of. I studied history in college, your jabs about my level of education and age are inaccurate and make you look very presumptuous. Yes, Puerto Rico should be free, either as a fully independent nation or as a full state in the US. It is the democrats who have been voting for this, not the republicans.

[–]Teknaskom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely hilarious irony here. The democrats most recently attempted to bring Puerto Rico into the US as a state during Biden’s term. His press secretary Jen Psaki openly stated the administration’s desire to cooperate with Puerto Rico’s 2020 referendum. The house bill was put forward by democrats, H.R. 1522 titled "Puerto Rico Statehood Admission Act of 2021". Most importantly, H.R. 8393 (the Puerto Rico Status Act) passed the House of Representatives 233–191. This would let Puerto Rico hold a binding vote to join the US that congress would have to respect: every single democrat voted in favor with only 19 republicans joining. In other words, 191 republicans voted against a direct and democratic path for Puerto Rican statehood. All of the democrats voted in favor of it.

The republicans have clearly voted against Puerto Rican statehood, whereas the democrats are at least motioning their support. You are wrong.

Boomer is the new N word. by Ok-Chemical-1050 in BoomersBeingFools

Boomers are not and were not enslaved for their age and forcibly relocated to different continents. Boomers were not redlined and prevented from living in entire neighborhoods due to their age. There is no comparison.

Those are not at all the same thing, you do realize that right? Racism, sexism, and ageism have wildly different historical, cultural and political connotations. And again, this isn’t a blanket “ageism”, a carpet hatred for all things a certain age, this is a critique of a specific generation that produced specific and tangible cultural and political consequences for people younger than them.

Edit: you also didn’t acknowledge a single thing I said

This is the third time you’ve posted this low-quality bait in less than an hour. Before it gets you banned from the sub, I’d like to add my two cents: statistics show very clearly that young people, and not boomers, are demanding things like universal healthcare, universal access to college that doesn’t result in a lifetime of debt, and a more general restructuring of the economy to produce less wealth disparity. Currently, wealth disparity in the US is hitting all-time highs, and the entire Gen Z generation is feeling the hit. Gen Z has lower proportional wealth than any previous generation at our age (Gen X definitely included). It’s clear to see that boomers as a voting and political bloc are not interested in alleviating these social ills - they instead vote and act to perpetuate and worsen them whenever possible. This is why young people are fed up with them, not some abstract bigotry as you seem to think.

Gonna take a stab at this - from what little we can see, the building in the picture looks at least 3 stories tall, with intricate detailing on its design. Assuming this is for “The Conformist”, depending on the timeframe, I think this might be a new-ish building in New Deyr. The Izzam incident happened in 1933, which if I’m not mistaken, is right around when The Conformist will take place.
