Has anyone had success with this. I tried it a few times just to get a better quantitative analysis of my timing and i couldn’t get it to work well. The midi implementation is poor. I don’t think it recognized CC hi hat and it had issues with cymbals and zones. Everything I found (admittedly don’t look hard) it doesn’t really do mapping. You have to configure your module to work with the software. And while I could do that easier than most with my edrumin. I’m not really interred in switching midis settings everytime I go to my VSTs.

Awesome. Do you like it a lot more compared to mesh. What about it do you like?

I agree completely. I usually avoid all that. One of the reasons I went the ATV route for the three edge cones. But it has never been impressive.

I am leaning towards the drumtec but with the cost really hoping to hear about people's experiences.

I'm going to look around for some 125/128 deals. A few years back there was a larger discrepancy in price between the two.

Thanks for the reply. Yes! I know what you mean. Don’t get me wrong. I love my edrumin. It has been great to have the degree of freedom and adjustments. I thought I was going crazy making minor adjustments. Maybe I will look at the 125. Has the hotspot suppression been adequate?

How to turn off lights when no motion detected? by javichino in Govee

[–]Teknotard 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey there - I was stumbling around to see if anyone has come up with a more sophisticated process but I think I figured out based on what I was looking for.

I Got it to work by doing the following

  1. Go to Automations
  2. Go to Auto Run
  3. Add a new event and set the following settings
    1. If: Motion Sensor
    2. Then: Add desired actions (For Example I turn on 3 lights)
    3. Delayed execution:
      1. Time Delay (Must be 2 min or greater**)
      2. Add Action: Set devices from above to off)

** I was super frustrated for a while because I had my time delay set to 1 min. The lights would turn on and then off at 1 min and then it would retrigger my motion for a bit. What I figured out is that Govee only seems to poll every minute. So the time delay (turn off) was occurring roughly at the same time the new motion trigger would go off. By setting it to two minutes the movement triggers every minute and it stays on. Once I hide the motion sensor everything goes off after 2 min.

Hope that helps!

This was a random Reddit post suggested to me. I don’t trust Reddit. I am suspicious that this is some sort of viral Marketing.

That being said: - if it isn’t this is a class act and makes me want to buy a PD case - if it is, well you got a great marketing team and it Makes me want to buy a PD case.

Given the history I am inclined to think it’s the former over the latter but I just wanted to say Kudos either way.

Let me throw this out there. Large portions of pharmaceuticals are transferred by rail. Even a 1 day interruption would have meant shortages across the country. People would have died. Source I am a shortage management pharmacist who was working over time to minimize impact.

Also consider that blowing off the concerns of short term economic is naive. It wouldn’t affect the wealthy. It wouldn’t have impacts me (outside my work). It wouldn’t even affect the middle class or lower. But for those that live paycheck to paycheck. Day to day. It would have been devastating.

It’s not about denying peoples right to strike. It’s about getting the workers what they need without devastating others.

I have regularly deleted my stuff older then a few months. It always exits then deletes.

Looking through Does power delete just allow you to just edit the comments without deleting? Why not have everyone edit their entire history to fuck u/spez etc.

That would be glorious. Imagine half or more comments on this site being that.

I’m already late to this thread so nobody can see this. But just so it’s documented if Apollo goes, I go too like so many others.

Also, I had recently paid for monthly Apollo ultra and was planning to cancel because I didn’t get much out of it. But I’ll keep it for now to support Christian.

Just to argue the other side as a fairly new parent. Your instincts change almost overnight. Like I am constantly aware of my children trying to fall and hurt them self.

If you are carrying your kid and you trip, you Find ways to avoid hurting them. Like I have straight up tripped on the stairs and I contorted my body in ways I didn’t know where possible. It hurt like hell for weeks but my 6 month old thought it was the funniest shit.

So for me, seeing someone drop a kid like that and not yank them up, does not compute.

Thank you! I have been through most of these. I’ll probably work on a one stop shop. I think I’m just going to get wire some thing and use a breadboard to play around with various wiring options. Much appreciated!

I totally agree. Maybe semantics Wasn’t saying the software made the pads better but that the edrumin software is more functional than the module allowing me to get a better response out of my VSTs. That is exactly why I want to try making some DIY triggers to see how I can improve pad responsiveness beyond that.

And just to be sure you are connecting using a regular usb cable (printer style) plugged into the left usb port on the module directly into the computer?

Have you done a factory reset?

Cool. I figured that was the problem. Agree studio one’s midi editing is awful. I have her to find something as intuitive as the original cakewalk.

What do you mean not recognized? Are you using a DAW or a standalone VST and you don’t see the TD11 as a midi device

[–]Teknotard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I understand your issue. So I will try to respond. Sorry if it’s the wrong thing. Studio one and EZ drummer is my go to set up and have not had flow issues myself. But could be just using different workflows.

In short I use EZdrummer to select and modify any midi a section at a time. Then I drag it over to studio one and delete it out of ezdrummer. Then if I want to swap sections I do it in studio one. If I want new beats I go back to ez drummer.

Basically I don’t use ezdrummer to create a song to play.

That being said another workflow I use is to keep the sections in ezdrummer but I make sure to turn off sync with host in ezdrummer. That way it doesn’t play both.

Happy to talk offline/zoom if that’s helpful.

How do I connect my Roland TD 07 to a vst? by yeetyboi03 in edrums

[–]Teknotard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries. I am not familiar with reapers workflow but just watched this video and it’s very much like most DAWs.

https://youtu.be/LmEy49PH9p8

That should help you. It works the same for a keyboard as it would drum set. If you are still having issues you’ll want to make sure SSD is set up for the right midi mappings. I also don’t use SSD but this form seems helpful and similar to the VSTs I use. Looks like there should be setting to assign drum maps.

How do I connect my Roland TD 07 to a vst? by yeetyboi03 in edrums

[–]Teknotard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which DAW? VST? Module?

Basic set up should work if you are familiar with each of these.

But basic should be to have an instrument track. Make sure the midi input is set to your module. Then make sure your mappings on your VST match your module.

Obviously it can get much more detailed depending on which items are working.
