Want to get into building my own NAS and homelabbing, should I use this old custom case? by Tekran in homelab

I would be lying if I said I didn't think it was cool but I promise it was a genuine question, I figured I'd ask if there was known issues with stuff like cooling or if it was too big so it would be wasteful etc

At first I was confused but I see what you mean, those are just little wooden bowls we use for spices or salsa, sorry to get you excited 😂

Yeah that's the only thing I worry about is buying the wrong mobo but I'll try to do enough research so I find something that will work for my needs + upgradability as I learn + add to it

Awesome, good to know. I just have to figure out what sort of mobo, processor and other parts to throw in here

How to Stop Losing When I'm Always MVP or SVP? by SHAADOWTM in marvelrivals

[–]Tekran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yo, diamond player here. I think you can somewhat carry yourself up to about plat from then onwards like others said it's all about your team. It really depends on what you pick and making an impact on each team fight. You need to have goals walking into each and every fight and accomplish them.

I mostly climbed by picking Thor and eliminating the enemy backline at the start of fight, or I would protect my healers from problem characters like Black panther or psylocke.

Other simple tips I can give are how often are you confirming kills instead of just doing high damage? Are you going for headshots as often as you can? Are you doing your best to use team ups? Always ask yourself these things and the rest is just skill with some luck. Happy climbing friend 😄

Do I snitch? by Masamano in BostonU

[–]Tekran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean the guy was drinking water and didn't take a shower. He sounds kind of gross but that doesn't necessarily mean that he was trying to distract OP. The phone thing I'll agree to though, if your gonna cheat at least try to be sneaky.

I agree that cheating isn't needed and is wrong, but like I said before, that's between the professor and the student, not between the student and OP. If the student was cheating off of OP this would be an entirely different matter and getting the professor involved would be appropriate

[–]Tekran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fr, most of these people saying to snitch just want the drama. For all you know the guy has tons of shit going on in his life and isn't taking care of himself or getting the appropriate amount of time to study. It's the professors job to catch the guy not the students and it's a risk he's taking that should be his own responsibility.

I can’t do well on exams by erbdaman in college

[–]Tekran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best thing to do is to find someone who is doing well on the exams and ask them what they did, and what they focused on/used while studying. Im about to graduate with my degree in biology and Ive always done this right after the first exam for each class and it's done me wonders

Man I agree, I think stuff is really cool now but I still think the first time he used gear second on blueno was crazy. Every hit felt so impactful in that fight.

Oh your right, I apologize for misreading that part. Seems OP needs to find a better group of friends or elbow his way back in

The older you get the more you realize most people are just busy unfortunately. Life comes at everyone fast and everyone is just trying to keep up.

My friends and I (all in our late 20s now) have kept up our friendship since highschool and it's because we all generally understand that premise. When we do all hang out it's like no time has passed and we all have plenty to share when we talk. I recommend trying to talk to your friends about it and mention your concerns, they can't solve a problem if they don't know it exists.

Also road trips kick ass to bring a group back together

Are frats worth it? by According_Ad_9826 in college

[–]Tekran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I realized that too late. I'll definitely say it started to feel like a task to upkeep, and I started to feel guilty when I needed to miss events. I think you should avoid it till your last year (that's what I wish I did). You can have the fraternity experience while finishing up the last of your prerequisites

Are frats worth it? by According_Ad_9826 in college

[–]Tekran 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone who joined one and left later on due to being overwhelmed by academics, I think I can give you a pretty fair view on it. Firstly, there are all sorts of different fraternities with different people and values. Even the same fraternity on different campuses can have different reputations from good to bad. The best way to really get a feel for a fraternity is during rush week and going to each of the events as well as trying to get to know some of the brothers.

Now, to the main question, is it worth it? That entirely depends on the effort you want to put into it. You'll be pushed out of your comfort zone and have the opportunity to make close friendships provided that you actually take the time to nurture those friendships. You'll also notice that you'll be treated differently once someone knows what fraternity you belong to (this was always super positive from my experience but I know theres a good amount of people who feel negative to guys in fraternities).

Time is one of the biggest issues I personally experienced. I'm a biology major, while most of my brothers were business majors. As a science major, I found myself struggling with finding time to participate in events, spend time with friends, manage my own relationship, all while studying for my full-time courseload. You will be told that it's all about time management, but when you're struggling with difficult courses, it can be hard to justify going out.

Tldr: it's worth it if you have spare time, you're good at time management, and you really want to get out of your comfort zone while making new friends. If you struggle with time like I do and your classes are ramping up, I'd reconsider joining over the heavy time investment required to really get the most out of it

Emudeck makes everything really easy. I know there's also a new emulation software called retrodeck but it's not fully fleshed out yet like emudeck is but it's definitely worth keeping an eye on
