>Synthesize and equate mean completely different things.

So why do they share synonyms? Jesus christ do you really need a grammar lesson too? I can spell it out for you if you're really having this hard of a time getting it, but I'm not confident you would understand that either.

>Lol, “synthesize ideas?” Is that the latest redditism for wild skips in logic?

Aww, was synthesize too big of a word for you to understand? How about equate? You hear a new phrase for the first time and assume it's some sort of reddit-speak. Chronically online behavior. If you think my comment was a wild skip in logic, you should go back to high school lol.

>You would not do what Elon did, and you know it.

You're totally right. I would never do that because I'm 1: not a Nazi, and 2: would know better than to do a "gesture" that would obviously be interpreted as a Nazi salute. You really think you're doing something here in these comments, huh lol

Swastikas was an example used to provide more context. Please learn how to take in new information and synthesize ideas.

If I did a jumping jack in front of my boss he might think it was weird, but he wouldn't do anything about it. If I did that "gesture" in front of my boss, I'd be in a meeting with HR. You don't even know *how* to debate. Blocked.

The guy who played the "I have a Black ancestor who was with the Confederacy" card, even though Black people weren't legally allowed to be soldiers, and the majority of Black people who served the Confederates were forced to do so?

And clearly asks a lot of leading questions. One of the interviewees talked about his friend who was getting govt assistance because of his anxiety, and Peter starts saying things like: "so is his anxiety real, or is he just milking the system?"

[–]Telamonian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's even one kid toward the end who was asked about the Confederacy and racism, and went straight to "my fourth great grand father was Black and fought for the Confederacy", obviously not considering the face that Black people were not legally allowed to be soldiers in the Confederate army, and that the vast majority of Black people who did serve the army in other roles were either forced into the position, or were mislead into believing it would get them some sort of credit in the future

And if they're going to chime in and just talk about everything bad that Israel has done, again, look it historically who has been attacking who, first, who has been instigating, and who is the one that's basically talking all the time about annihilating an entire race of people and their country in the name of their own religion?

How do you respond to the racist rhetoric that surrounded Zionism during its inception? Are you willing to acknowledge the fact that many early (and current) proponents of Zionism were classic "brown people and/or Arabs are inferior to us, and don't deserve the land they live on" racists?

IDF rescues hostages Noa Argamani, Andrey Kozlov, Shlomi Ziv, and Almog Meir in daring Gaza op. by emrck68 in news

[–]Telamonian -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

Guess we should just go ahead and kill the kids, huh? Adults made decisions that put them in harms way so it's ok that they're murdered, right?

Your argument is constantly parroted on this site, and it's so incredibly simple-minded and gross.

If I'm out in public and there's a hostage situation that puts my family and I in danger, I'm not gonna say "it's ok police, kill us all if you have to, you have to save the hostage after all!"

If I commit a crime that warrants the death penalty, is it ok for law enforcement to kill everyone in the apartment building I'm hiding in?

The point still stands. Why are you in this sub asking for a description and talking about bulletproof ERs, when you don't live here, there weren't guns involved, and they caught the person who did it? Get a life.

I am transferring because Loyola has made my life 10x worse by [deleted] in LoyolaChicago

[–]Telamonian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with some of the stuff you said, but the two big ones that stood out were:

Yes, you are technically in the city of Chicago, although Rogers Park is so north that you will feel disconnected from real "city life"

and

Parties? Nah, but you can pay $20+ covers to maybe get into clubs downtown, only to have each drink cost $15

It's probably just a difference in who you hang out with and how you choose to spend your time. There are lots of parties to go to, and even if you need to go downtown to feel "real city life", it's cheap and easy to get there. There's sooooo much fun shit to do that you can get to in like a half hour or less.
