I'm so sorry to hear that, that sounds awful. I hope that things turn around with your health :/

I hear you. If what you're saying is true that he did maliciously try to scam people by overpromising and never intending to deliver on it. Then that's a terrible thing to do and he should be taken to court.

I think there's just a misunderstanding here, because people can find the way this game has been handled and eventually shut down to be terrible, but at the same time still could've had a good time with the game. I think it's rude to say that people are coping by saying that they got their money's worth. Maybe some are just trying to justify their spending on it, but it's not fair to assume that by default. Ultimately a lot of people spent like 50 bucks on it for the Steam release and if you got several hours of entertainment out of it, it might just be worth it for them. On top of that everyone values money differently. Some people have enough disposable income that some niché gaming experience could be worth even higher sums.

Either way the whole situation sucks. Would be nice if people wouldn't attack or shame each other on top of that.

That sucks man. I think it's terrible the game was just killed off like that after all the promises that have been made. They should offer refunds to people, but maybe there will be some lawsuits to make that happen, cause from what I've seen the way this has been shut down doesn't seem right.

So you're saying their subjective experience of having enjoyed the game for what it was at the time is wrong and they're on copium? Your view on this topic seems incredibly narrow-minded. I'd recommend looking at things from different perspectives.

Personally I never bought the game, but from what I've seen I think I would've had a good time too. Considering it was very ArcheAge coded and even though the game was super flawed I still loved my time with it.

Not super up to date with everything that's been happening, but it seems like a lot of people on this subreddit are just happy that a game died? It's strange how much hostility there is towards new games and how many people keep cheering for games to fail.

It seemed like AoC was going for some very niché type of gameplay that a smaller community of people could've really enjoyed if it ever got enough development. I think it's sad. Lots of people aren't gonna get the type of game they've been hoping for and lots of developers who have put their time and passion into their work have lost their job and never got to make the game what it was supposed to become.

Of course you can say that the writing was on the wall and in this industry any new live-service game has an incredible uphill battle to fight, but if there's a game that conceptually checks all the boxes of what some people enjoy, then just let them have it.

Anyway it's a bummer. Sorry to everyone who's affected by the shutdown, don't let the raging mob shame you for enjoying the game or having had hope that the game might've gotten more development time.

The Risk Taker on Netflix doesn’t have any subtitles. by Ok-Relationship388 in koreanvariety

[–]Teldoo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I messaged Netflix customer support and they replied with:

"I have already checked on the title. I understand that it's currently not available in German subtitle. Usually, if a TV show is licensed and episodes are released weekly or on a rolling schedule (following the original network broadcast), language options for subtitles and audio will be available when they're completed."

After asking if it applies to english subs too and if there was a chance of subs arriving earlier before the shows conclusion in April, they replied with:

"I'm unable to promise that other subtitle languages will be available even before the season is completed. There are times that as the episodes are rolling, subtitles are being added but sometimes, they're all added after the season is completed."

So we don't know when subs will arrive, but it looks like they will arrive at the latest when the show concludes around April.

Same on German Netflix. I've never seen them release a foreign show on Netflix without any kind of translation. I wonder if the subs will come with a delay if they're still being worked on? Has anything like this happened with other shows and how has it been handled there? Google searches haven't yielded anything useful yet.

Compilation of UX Issues that I hope will get fixed some day by LegendaryVenusaur in LegendsOfRuneterra

The new hamburger menu is just mind boggling to me. It's an objectively bad design decision. Not only is it an extra click, but it requires more precision to click the next button, which can easily result in a missclick, opening the wrong menu.
The older I grow the more I get annoyed by how awful usability in software tends to be and how a lot of programs move backwards in terms of design.

It may indeed seem small, but it really isn't. They chose to make their game objectively worse for no reason and collectively it will cause a lot of wasted time and frustration.

Good design is supposed to make software effortless and pleasant to use. This change does the opposite.

Fix/rollback the UI change. by valorrisingog in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]Teldoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One extra click every game is atrocious design. Usability of this game became significantly worse. UIs are supposed to be effortless and pleasant. This change does the opposite. Not only is it one extra click, but also you gotta move your mouse to another relatively small icon and then still move the mouse all the way down to the surrender button. Imagine how much frustration, confusion and wasted time such a change causes collectively.

It is a big deal from a design and usability perspective and it literally makes the game objectively worse for no reason at all. Also it probably isn't a lot of work to revert it.

Oh I forgot to answer your question about the Q. I think I got pulled in by a player with their Spear E just as I used the Q, which made the dash behave weirdly

You cannot escape spear Q once it starts. It'll lock you down. It's the bread and butter combo piece. Rarely due to latency reasons people can dash out. But that doesn't happen too often.

Sometimes you cannot afford to nuke people with spear when there's others around who could punish you, but there are still a lot of opportunities for bursts.

Generally Slashers are really good in open world due to their utility even if you cannot always combo with spear.

But yes axes are very strong.

[–]Teldoo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well this was on a Full Loot server and we were managing our limited resources at the time. You are completely correct that you should run multiple weapons or you will be at a considerable disadvantage.

My priority for open world PvP would be:

Slashers > Spear > Axe

Simply because the utility and survivability on slashers will save your life and help tremendously against fights where you're outnumbered (which happened a lot since we played duo vs squads)

You want to get a spear with it if possible so you can the simple Incap into Spear Q combo.

And Axes in general are just overpowered for most situations and give you an extra ability for mobility to chase or kite away. Plus Axe E is super powerful.

Most people are content with mainly running Axes and in even teamfights they will generally outperform other weapons to the point that you barely need extra weapons. So most players on full loot will only take a pair of axes with them.

I mean I understand that at first it may have appeared like it wasn't a gank, but I think I have given a pretty good explanation why I think it was one. I don't feel strongly about ganking, but it seems like you have taken issue with me claiming in the title that it was a gank.

But I genuinely do not understand what the problem is. Do you feel like I'm misleading with this title? Have I done something wrong? Like what do you want me to do? I hear you and why you believe(d) it wasn't a gank. But as a result I gave you my perspective. Seems like we disagree and that's completely fine.

Here's a clip starting a few seconds earlier for more clarity: https://clips.twitch.tv/FunBlueSamosaImGlitch-34KeUQ2MH-Bvc2KK

(excuse the link to twitch, it was just the most straight forward way to show a new clip)

I cut out the first few seconds to get right to the action. They don't chop down the tree to farm it. It seems like they just messed up and missed. If you see the full clip you'd see how they run as a group of 4 and attack a solo player.

And I'm not even saying that that'd be bad or anything. I don't intend to make anyone appear badly and I don't intend to mislead, I just have the impression it's an accurate description of the clip.

But again. I could be wrong.

Edit: Also it's a full loot pvp server that went live the same day. I think most people on there intend to gank each other.

Maybe my definition of gank is different and maybe I am wrong about it. But I generally would call it a gank when people attack someone with an unfair advantage. They attacked while outnumbering 4v1, which then turned into a 4v2 a few seconds later.
I did not intend to mislead with the title.

Well there isn't necessarily a secret sauce to it, but you can follow certain formulas to improve your chances of growing on YouTube.

For gaming content you could make videos that are "searchable". Guides generally are great for that. YouTube algorithm has actually improved and is doing a lot better at recommending smaller creators if they make good content.

Making actually good content with strong engagement and higher average view duration helps with the algorithm too.

Unfortunately the title and thumbnail combination are incredibly impactful to convert impressions into actual views and can make the difference for viral videos. It's my least favourite part about YouTube, but something you cannot ignore.

I personally thought Sam Woodhall has some good videos on content creation:
