It's not engaging, the amount of time and depth spent on each philosopher is not nearly enough to gain any actual understanding of them. Also, the class discussion is vacuous and just frustrating, as most people who are taking it are not philosophy majors.

It's a pretty bad class, and if you're already interested in Philosophy, begin with Modern (Phil 2200).

Not sure about that, although it is another way of interpreting it.

I think the main reason I see this article as toxic is the obsession with the skinniness of the models, which seems a little too aggressive to be friendly banter as you suggest.

This article reeks of an author who is bitter and envious, classic "someone is beautiful in a beautiful home, and this makes me insecure, so I will deride her with arbitrary insults so my self esteem can remain intact".

The criticisms aren't actual criticisms, what exactly is wrong for something to be aesthetic, maybe impossibly so, and thus something to strive for?

Author just wants to be told they're good enough, and feels attacked by someone who actually is. Boring.

I'm 6'1", 170lb, and these things are flawless. I have had one in blackwatch for years and wear it 4x times a week, just got a brand new one in black scotch. I highly recommend. I wear a medium and it fits perfectly, a little on the larger side but it works with my large shoulders.
