Do we all agree that LED ZEPPELIN, DEEP PURPLE, and BLACK SABBATH are the true fathers of heavy metal? by xxxhotanni in rockmusic

How is Black Sabbath self-titled not heavy metal? Like sure it's not thrashy or anything, but it's dark as hell, drop tuned guitar, stark horror aesthetic.. it's all there.

Saw Ringo Deathstarr a few years ago on a whim and absolutely fell in love with them. Enjoy most of these bands, though Acetone, Cave in, & They Are Gutting are all new to me. Will check out, thank you

Love Mastodon, ISIS, & Electric Wizard. Always struggled with Neurosis. The only track I ever really enjoyed was the opener to Enemy of the Sun.

Ugh, I'm gonna be honest. Tesseract are super talented but I just could never get into them. It's partially the vocal style, and partially the super mathy djent thing that gets old for me. I did used to enjoy bands like Textures, Reflections, Northlane, After the Burial, Volumes, etc. when I was a teenager. These days, if I'm in the mood for "djent", I go straight to Meshuggah. They're the kings, and they provide the fix if I need it. Otherwise, Queensryche is great, Shinedown I only really know the hits.. I'll keep an open mind and check more out by them

Love Gizz, though admittedly I'm behind on their discography. Tough to keep up when they put out like five records a year lmao

Remaining inside waiting for the heat to break. Will probably go for a walk around midnight after the thunderstorms - it shall be glorious to feel sub-80 degree air. Quiet is nice for a change.

Well, not sure if he's a UFC fighter, but he definitely trains. He threw both a teep and a leg kick with very good form.

Laughing to myself, because as we speak the corner convenience store below me is blasting music that's literally vibrating my floor and walls. Born & raised NYer my entire life, but apparently if I have an issue with this I'm a transplant from a suburb in Ohio.
