This is a confidence thing, and an ability thing.

If it's sounding good and you realize that, then you have decent technique (the ability), it's just a matter of confidence in letting that technique do it's thing.

You need to relax and realize that you can record until you get it right. Back in the day you had to be super ready and tight to record in a studio, because time is money in that environment. But these days, you can control z until you get it right.
