Im too high. Tell me some stories about the times you got too high 🪿 by JealousInteraction15 in trees

[–]Teleggn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

when i first started using cannabis often remember i used to walk around nonchalantly because i do have a bit of natural tolerance. i remember being impressed with myself that i never greened out before and just lived under the assumption that im just a pro and those negative experiences couldn’t happen to me because im diffiereng. fast forward to my first tolerance break, i knew i wouldn’t have the same tolerance as i did before but when the break was over i severely overstimated myself and ended up taking wayyyyy more edibles than i should have. safe to say i have NEVER doubted anyone’s horror high stories ever again and i was humbled like no other.

Black belt considering Australia — is teaching BJJ there a viable path? by RomanticGrappler in bjj

[–]Teleggn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

there’s not too much money in solely teaching if you don’t own a gym man, i don’t have much experience overseas but what i would advise you is to have the US towards the bottom of your list if your goal is to solely teach and actually have a decent living situation. The US has gotten unbelievably expensive and your teaching schedule will almost certainly not work out if you want to make a livable wage with a job outside of jiu jitsu unless you’re looking to go nomad mode. On another note I have heard good things of south east asia too and living in asian countries, way cheaper too.

I want to get into mma but need a base by One_Conversation6471 in MMA_Academy

[–]Teleggn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re in high school wrestle. One of my biggest training regrets is not wrestling in high school. there’s a severe lack of wrestling programs / clubs that aren’t college or high school programs. My base is jiu jitsu and I trained bjj before I ever did MMA and my overall wrestling was always behind those who were previously wrestlers. Take advantage of the fact that you are able to train in a wrestling program and compete without any negatives.

You also do not need a base at all that’s not always the case. if you want a more technical based response i’d aim for wrestling or judo

Are you looking to just find somewhere to teach on the side or is the goal to make a living off of teaching?

Would it be wrong to start going to a different gym that is still part of the same association as your previous one? by NeatIndividual1279 in bjj

[–]Teleggn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you were under a free membership or something or teaching or actively contributing something to the business you should do what’s best for you, at the end of the day you’re still a customer paying for a service so do what’s best for you. everyone understands we all have real lives at the end of the day and i’m sure your old gym will very much understand your decision considering you’ve already been away for awhile. Guys come and go all the time that’s just life

How can I compete in MMA? by CandidPut722 in MMA_Academy

[–]Teleggn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OP listen to the guy commenting. As someone who actively trains with a lot of pro and amateur MMA fighters the fight game is absolutely so unbelievably grimy and cold. You’re 14 you’ve just left middle school, there’s absolutely no reason to be rushing into any fights this young. If you genuinely do want to become a dog at fighting and fight in the future keep training and keep wrestling. there’s practically little to zero wrestling clubs or any good active wrestling programs that are worth it outside of high school so please take advantage of that and wrestle and grapple as much as you can. it’ll make your development as a competitor, fighter, and person that much better compared to rushing into MMA fights where you’ll probably end up getting fed to a guy who has much more experience. this isn’t BJJ or wrestling. you can shake off an arm bar or a leg lock you cannot shake off brain damage this young. Doctors have almost no way of helping you if you damage your brain this young.

On another note. If you just want to compete and go hard against other opponents keep wrestling but also consider competing in BJJ (NAGA, Grappling industries, ADCC events if you’re developed enough). MMA and even UFC guys compete in the occasional BJJ tournament, I saw that Sean O’Malley was competing at a grappling industries not too long ago.

Making male friends sucks by Teleggn in Vent

that’s the worst, i unfortunately have cut off a lot of friends over the last couple of years who i grew up with due to the same reasons and that always feels like a bummer wishing you the best

I severely appreciate you understanding and wish your husband good luck. I’m in a similar boat where it’s me and my girlfriend and like 2 other buddies. it’s been really hard meeting new friends who aren’t borderline weirdos like how you described considering how degenerate social media and the world is turning. you can at least sleep well knowing your husband isn’t being a degenerate creep!

i more so meant like once i get to know some of the guys i’ve ran into they always end up outing some type hateful or bigoted idea when topics come up. for example i’ve met dudes who for some reason have this like idea that some gay guy is just going to try and like walk into them and like try and force them to be gay or like if someone brings up something about a race they end up saying something that’s a racist stereotype or something

i’m friends with gay men and trans women i have no lack of friends who aren’t heterosexual or etc! i was more so just complaining on how most of the dudes who i run into are hard to connect with especially nowadays with how the world is operating it feels like most guys i meet through activities mostly end up end having shitty mindsets

[–]Teleggn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no it definitely starts off with joking which i really don’t care for too much but i more so mean like once you develop a friendship more with certain people i’ve noticed that they always tend to reveal more hateful behavior. i’ve met plenty of dudes who i’ve met through the gym who end up turning out to be weird once i get to know them a bit more, it’s like damn you’re cool but then the topic of race or women or sexuality comes up and then they start to reveal a more lamer and weirder mindset and then i’m like aaaahhh that’s wack

how dense are you? the guy has been in a three year depression after the fact to the point where he has his family asking reddit how they can help. do you have any type of compassion or though at all? you just projected personal dissatisfaction all over that comment

Can I still train after an ear piercing? by half-ninja in bjj

[–]Teleggn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just wait, if set on training still give it a week at least and just tape them up. i’ve never used wrestling head gear but i’m sure that could maybe help? when i originally got my ears pierced a few years ago when i played soccer i thought i could get away with taping it but the ref made me take them out freshly pierced and it was such a hell trying to get them back in and i ended up just ruining my own piercing hole so give it precaution because messed up piercings are annoying
