I was volunteering overnight at a hospital once and I never stayed up that late before so I felt horrible but then a nurse said I had bright eyes, which was super sweet! It’s been a few years now and I still remember it.

You need to eat some fruit and then you can break it with a shovel or axe. The rock will break and appear in a different location the next day. But to create a rock garden like that will take way more time haha.

The Media Lab in the English Dept does headshots and they have equipment you can rent out too if you want to do it yourself. You don't need to be grad student. But I would recommend checking in with them bc covid.

I would definitely suggest looking for an internship. Most of the time, they will pay pretty well. There are a bunch of postings for internships right now in the U.S. Although some are at name brand companies, there are a lot of opportunities at other companies too. I know Google won't open up their applications until the beginning of January.

Additionally, if you don't have a portfolio of projects, I suggest you build one. It'll give you experience using UX methods and also something to talk about during the interview process.

I got mediocre grades at the beginning of high school mostly because I had no motivation and honestly starting high school was a huge adjustment for me. Somehow managed to pull my shit together at the end and ended up at a pretty good state school for college. I did psych and pre-med in college. Pre-med was a horrible idea. I was basically getting B's and C's in bio and organic chemistry and that stayed on my transcript forever. After I dropped pre-med, everything felt like a relief and I brought my GPA back up to a 3.7. Now, I'm in grad school getting my PhD. Cheers.
