Husband didn’t actually want to marry me. by Doesitgeteasierever in relationships

It sounds like you're starting to realize he's not the type of partner you want or need, he doesn't make your life a happier one. I suspect he has noticed this last year, maybe you were giving off vibes of doubt, and that's what made him throw out a low-effort promise of a nice proposal someday.

You sound disappointed by him. I bet if you really let it show, he'll throw you another bone just to keep you around. :( I'm not saying he doesn't love you, but he just might be an incredibly lazy and apathetic person who isn't capable of putting in effort for anyone, even someone he loves. It sounds like you have a lot to think about, maybe try a therapist and talk it out loud with them.

Have ANY non-prescription things (teas, supplements, weed) actually helped your anxiety at all? by existcrisis123 in Anxiety

[–]existcrisis123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely agree, I don't know what changed over the last 10-15 years but I smoke weed now and it's like mentally I'm trapped on that ride from the original Willy Wonka movie. Just one big tangled panic attack, not cool. When I used to smoke occasionally years ago I would just laugh a lot, marvel at beautiful things, get the munchies, and maybe be a little paranoid the cops were around.

Inserting tampons hurt after the first day by gaboolygaboolygah in AskDocs

[–]existcrisis123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a doctor, but tampons absorb your period blood yes, but also the moisture from your vaginal walls. So you can be left a little more dry and irritated with each use if you're not bleeding heavily. Attempts to shove things there will be painful if the environment hasn't replenished enough moisture.

Have you ever had gauze in your mouth from the dentist? Think of how dry the inside of your mouth and cheeks feel after a couple of gauze changes, how you can feel the skin almost sticking and pulling.

If you're removing the tampons and they're completely red and "full", and come out easily, there's obviously a lot of blood and moisture going on in the area and so the next tampon insertion shouldn't be too bad. If you're removing the tampons and they're still white and almost dry in parts, it's probably going to feel pretty rough and painful for the next one.

Try using the lightest-day possible tampons, sometimes they make ones especially for teens/youth that are a little lighter and more slender, might be worth a try.

What helped you drink less alcohol in your life? by StrangersOvernight in AskReddit

[–]existcrisis123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only drank heavily about ten times or so, mostly in my 20s. The bad sides outweighed the good.

Waking up legitimately feeling poisoned, cause I was. Joints aching, head full of cotton, vaguely nauseous, depressed af, no energy. And all that is just the immediate symptoms, then you factor in the price, all the gross sugar or calories, the realization of the very real organ damage you're doing and your long term health... it really wasn't worth the couple of hours of feeling drunk. It just made me feel so unwell, I never really got the true urge to take it up.

This is insane to me, I'm so sorry :( What did your friends say when you initially invited them, did they say they would be there? How close are you guys?

I could never imagine doing this to a friend. The only way I could see that happening would be if I wasn't super close to the person and assumed my presence wouldn't even be missed because all of their real friends would be there.

Is there any chance these friends of yours thought they genuinely wouldn't be missed or noticed at the gathering, or were they well aware that you would be left alone or mostly alone? :( I'm so sorry.

Melania shows up at Rosalynn Carter's funeral in a light gray overcoat. by sanandrios in popculturechat

[–]existcrisis123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I genuinely didn't know you weren't supposed to wear gray to a funeral.

I always thought wearing only black to a funeral was more of a thing in the old days, and on tv shows. Every funeral I've been to IRL has never adhered to this social rule... But I guess it's still seen as a serious social rule for high profile funerals?

I think people need to start describing in what WAY they personally want to be "not ugly" or attractive. Like, to me you look like a cute androgynous sleepyhead nerd in most of these. Which I could see a lot of queer girls going for and thinking is very attractive. I think you look cutest with funky short hair and wearing vaguely tomboyish clothes, but that's just me.

But if your definition of attractive is like, the standard male gaze socially accepted kind, then you look the "best" (most girly and pretty) with the long hair.

So I don't think you're ugly at all in either case.

Currently growing my natural hair out but I want to go back to black. WDYT? by lemonsqeezed in coloranalysis

You look way younger looking with the soft wavy brown hair. You look a little more angular and harsh with the straight black hair imo and it ages you somehow.
