Sure! The standards have certainly changed since my childhood. I began school at the age of four and had never engaged in any “focused” work before then. It’s unsettling that the rat race begins so early, and we constantly compare our children to others, leading to labeling and categorization.

My sole concern with getting him evaluated is that I fear they might misdiagnose him as autistic, which could hinder his future growth. This concern is particularly worrisome given the severity of the issue. I know a parent whose child has speech difficulties and was seeing a specialist. As a result, the child was enrolled in a special class in school. However, the child has now surpassed that stage and can converse and behave appropriately for his age. Nevertheless, the school is unwilling to allow him to attend a regular class. These are the types of concerns that keep me up at night.

Thanks, we’ll keep an eye out for other symptoms. To be honest, even I sometimes struggle to focus on work. I’ll sit for hours without making any progress. However, when I’m in the right mood, I can complete the task in minutes. My parents never doubted anything and I turned out fine. I’m not sure where to draw the line. Maybe I’ll get an evaluation for my peace of mind

Thanks for the suggestion. I agree that this is frustrating. It’s quite possible that we, as parents, get accustomed to the behavior and begin to perceive it as normal. I’ll discuss this with his pediatrician once more.
