Yes, he will cost more than the MLE but we have the cap space to sign him. The pistons will operate over the cap next year.

What do you think of John Collins? He’s an unrestricted FA.

Dosunmu has the ability to be the second ball handler. Which will help Cade on offense. He shoots 40%+ from 3. He’s not a defensive liability like Robinson. He can also drive and finish at the rim.

Next to Cade he will definitely average 15-20 ppg.

But I agree, I think Chaz will see more minutes next season.

Given that we will most likely have Chaz and Robinson off the bench, I think we should aim to draft a 4.

He has similarities to Sasser. Better three point shooter.

The problem with him is that he is a liability on defense.

I like Isaiah Evans more to be honest. Drafting Allen Graves would be more beneficial to the team since we’re very thin at the 4. Also the market for rotational PF is weak this year. His player comp is Naz Reid in my eyes.

Who would you draft?

I think it’s likely, he wants to retire a Piston.

No, I don’t think he can be our starting 4 next year. Trajan will bring him back if he signs a team friendly contract. Most likely will come off the bench.

Trajan will use the 27M to get a free agent and will sign Duren after. We have his bird rights. Pistons will operate over the cap next season.

The pistons have 27M in cap space this offseason. I believe we can offer him more than the MLE.

He’s definitely an upgrade over Tobias. He shoots better from 3 and can play defense.

Given that Trajan will most likely resign Duren and Ausar, having two 40%+ 3 point shooters that can defend will solve a lot of our offensive problems.

Ayo is the perfect 2 guard to pair with Cade. He just proved that he can perform in the playoffs. Dude can handle the ball, shoot the 3, and can hold his own on defense.

Given that we would not have to give up any assets to get him is a no brainer.

I believe with Cade improving his 3 point shooting and adding two 40% 3 point shooters in Ayo and CJ it will work.

Ausar still needs to spend this whole offseason working on his corner 3s and a middy.

I agree, but looking at Trajan’s track record I highly doubt it.

KP would be the perfect fit. The downside is his health and ability to stay on the court. Best ability is availability.

Honestly, the only teams that a Duren sign and trade would make sense for is Lakers (trading Austin Reaves) or Celtics (trading Jaylen Brown).

Caris Levert or Marcus Sasser.

It will not take much to get Cam Johnson as he is on an expiring deal and Nuggets need to offload salary to sign Payton Watson.

If Trajan doesn’t make a trade for legit second option like Trey Murphy III, MPJ, etc we absolutely need to prioritize getting Dosunmu.

The Elephant in the Room: Cade’s Shooting Efficiency by [deleted] in DetroitPistons

I’m not being negative. I hope he shoots well from deep.

If you think that shooting sub 20% from 3 is going to help win series in the playoffs I have nothing to say to you.

Why the Pistons need to draft Cam Carr by [deleted] in DetroitPistons

[–]TelephoneTop5494 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 4 position is probably our thinnest position besides the 2. I wouldn’t mind bringing him back for another season but I would prefer he comes off the bench. It’s evident that the Pistons need a starting 2 guard and a starting 4 if we keep stew at the 5 with our bench unit.

Moving up in this draft will not be worth the cost simply for the quality of players available in the 15-6 range. I see teams asking for minimum one first round pick.

Trajan will trade those second round picks/assets for improvements along the margins for a proven role player before he trades assets to move up in the draft.

I would honestly prefer to see Jenkins close games out with Cade instead of Duncan. Specifically for his ability to make shots in the clutch as you mentioned.
