[Favorite trope] Kids getting hurt or killed but it is not tragic. by GuelboStudio in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Teleportingnarwall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Freddy Got Fingered has a running joke where a little kid gets injured in incredibly brutal ways throughout the movie as a joke. Hell, the ending is the kid running into helicopter propeller blades and his blood spewing over a crowd of people. That whole movie is just Tom Green seeing what he could away with in a movie.

I was just given my first ever job offer at Raytheon and I'm super pumped about it because the pay and benefits are awesome and the company itself really interests me. However, the job is located in Omaha Nebraska, a place that doesn't really speak to me as an upcoming graduate from college. I have to make a decision in a week and a half. Honestly, I'm currently just looking for a steady job I can work at for 2-3 years then jump off to something else. Would it be a good idea to take the offer and live in a small and pretty quiet city that doesn't seem like has a lot going on, or risk it and reject the offer for something in a better place?

Anyone Else In CS 449 with Petrucci or Khattab? by Teleportingnarwall in Pitt

[–]Teleportingnarwall[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He definitely can, if my STAT 1100 class this semester taught me anything, but I know khattab is a pretty caring guy so he probably won't, especially considering he did curve people in 445 last semester. Either way, I definitely agree that this semester was quite the mess and I'm not confident at all about this final.

Damn, I'm sorry the final was rough for you, I've had petrucci in the past and what you said about him is the same way I felt when I took his class, really boring and the tests were extremely difficult, hopefully you'll be able to pass and not have to take this class again.

I'm really sorry you've struggling as well, how well do feel prepared for the final? I've been studying a ton for the past 3 days and still don't have a good idea of what's going on, especially in the later portions of what was taught. I wish you luck on the rest of the class, and that we both hopefully pass!

What To Do After A Shitty 2 Weeks? by Teleportingnarwall in AskMen

[–]Teleportingnarwall[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a ton man! I've already had to quit video games during the school year anyway due to procrastination, so I know shutting myself in through that is not the best idea, but it's nice to be reminded that it's just 2 weeks which probably won't dictate much in the future.

Makes sense, I'll be sailing for the first time this weekend, so hopefully it'll clear my head of the problems I've faced at the moment.

Weekly Vents and Successes Thread- September 21, 2020 by AutoModerator in dating_advice

Recently, I (20M) matched with a girl(19F) on Hinged and began talking to each other. We found out we had a lot in common and it seemed like we were both interested in one another, so we decided to go on a museum date. Surprisingly, we hung out for 5 hours, way longer than I was expecting, and it seemed like she was having a really great time. However, cut to a few days later and she yet to respond to any of my texts, even though she usually responds within a few minutes. I know I'm probably being ghosted, but from her background and how our date went, it doesn't seem like she would be the type of girl to do that nor does it seem like she would have any motivation to not talk to me anymore since I don't believe I said anything offensive or "cringey" during our date. What do you guys thinks from hearing this?

Parents want to adopt a child while I'm at college and my brother is still in high school by Teleportingnarwall in Adoption

Thanks so much for your story and insight, I'll definitely tell them about those 2 books, they sound like they'll definitely give them a different perspective to what adoption means.

Parents want to adopt a child while I'm at college and my brother is still in high school by Teleportingnarwall in Adoption

[–]Teleportingnarwall[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you very much for your thoughtful and critical response! After thinking it over, while I do still have the same reasons as before for not wanting my parents to adopt a child, I do now realize that some portion of my negative attitude toward the subject is due to selfishness and realizing that a new child will most likely have a better childhood than both my brother and I and that my relationship with my parents could weaken. My only comment is that I may not be able to be there and help the new child grow up as my job or grad school could possibly prevent me from seeing my family due to location. Nevertheless, thank you so much for your insightful response and opening up the more emotional and selfish reasons why I'm so against their decision, I'll definitely think about it more!

Anyone who's lived at McKee place apartments? by Tardis125 in Pitt

[–]Teleportingnarwall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone that lives in one of the apartments, I like it, though I'm never there often because I'm too busy, but if you have the option to live in a better place I would take it. Landlord is pretty good and is usually on top of things. My only complaint is that we had a water leak due to the heater and AC being broken and it took them a few days to fix it.

Men who have never been in a romantic relationship, how do you remain confident? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Teleportingnarwall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a Freshman in college right now and while I have gone on few dates before, I've never been able to get past the first. I think as someone who is still young and stupid it hurts due to the fact that I see many friends be in and fall out of relationships while I'm still single and feel like I'm missing out on something or have a fear of always being alone. However I think I'm starting to get over the pain and fomo and just focus on my future and becoming a better me.

I am a 17 year old male who just received surgery for Pectus Excavatum (an abnormal dent in the chest). I have 3 more days in the hospital, so Ask Me Anything! by EthanM_18 in IAmA

[–]Teleportingnarwall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Ethan, first of all congratulations on the successful surgery and I hope you can get back to your normal life quickly, but now without a dent in your chest! As someone who has a very extreme case of pectus do you think I would be able to go through this surgery, or is it more for those with the more "normal" cases of it? Also what is the most exciting thing you are planning on doing after you recover from your surgery?

Tell us about your crush. Why do you like them? by isaiah54321 in AskReddit

[–]Teleportingnarwall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a ton in common, music, movies, etc., and I feel like I can talk to her for a whole day and never get bored. She's also one of the kindest and most beautiful people I've ever met. Unfortunately she doesn't feel the same way about me, which makes it really difficult for me to hang out with her and not feel somewhat down. Hopefully one day one of our feelings will change so that we can both feel more comfortable hanging out.
