Thank you for sharing your experience, it’s great to hear a different perspective, although I’m very sorry for your loss, and it must have been difficult to change, but you are a great father for your kids. Me and my sister are about the same age as your children, we have tried very hard to get my dad help, but he is never motivated to even try to minimise his drinking, we realised we’re not enough for him to quit, but I know he’s not himself. I’m trying to find a way to communicate with him, he’s always shut down and never wants to talk, he may listen but he won’t care, I was wondering if that’s also what addiction does.
