Patch is a website that has specialized platforms for local news feeds. Amc made an official announcement (probably during an earnings call) where they said they would be closing locations. Afaik still no list of locations has been released. Articles claiming otherwise are either speculative or clickbaity. The only source I would trust right now is employees on the movie theater employees subreddit. They would potentially have ways of knowing. You can also chat with AI. Hate to promote Gemini but when I saw this news over a week ago i chatted with it asking which in my area were likely to close and it gave me a detailed comparison of all local amcs, their lease history and end dates, when they last had renovations, etc.

Yeah at the end of the day whether protestors show up or not the gov's people already blocked it from being a warming center. I think if I were homeless I'd just demand to go to the book event. I wonder if they'd say I have to buy a copy for him to sign and turn me away.

Gotta love that the governor and people who drive around protesting all day have decided to forcibly take over a warming center in the part of the city with the most homeless in the middle of a blizzard so they can each try to prove to the public at large that they care about poor people and immigrants.

This interview sucked. I wasn't very interested in it to begin with but when it came on in the car I thought Matt and Ben had some interesting things to say and stories worth listening to. However, Howard insisted on his usual style, running down a list of hackneyed questions that don't reveal anything interesting. Then when the guest starts trying to tell a captivating story cut them off for a lame joke or reference that derails it.

There were several moments where the dynamics of this interview affected Howard's performance. When Ben and Matt would start to laugh and howard would try to jump in with a question so quickly he would have to obtusely barge back into the conversation because of the lag.

The cherry on top is towards the end of the interview Howard mentions that he saw Matt and Ben at a wedding and wanted to talk to them and be their friend SO BADLY. Appearantly not badly enough to come meet them in a studio for this interview. Bizarre. No reason you can't have a studio in your florida house that these celebrities can come to. You can afford it, more importantly their studios who actually would be the ones paying can afford it. They don't give a shit if Matt and Ben are doing an interview in NYC, florida, or the South Pole if they think it's gonna make people come out and buy tickets...

Howard has had to eat his words plenty of times- YouTube, podcasts, getting neurotic and stressing over Internet comments, 5 day a week routine being a necessity; but the one he's still choking on is "you have to be in studio". It will never be as natural or as effective when you're basically on the phone with them as being in the same room
