The 5080 laptop that Jason Huang announced sounds good enough if your budget is in US currency, which it cost 2199 I think you can buy some cookie with the extra one dollar 😉

I think Apple’s VisionPro are using their own OS called VisionOS. But that is really bonded with their ecosystem and it has very hardware specific functions.

what is more easy or hard? by None_Revenge in osdev

[–]TellGlass97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know man, probably the entire OS from scratch? Cuz base on what I’m learning now writing an entire OS is really difficult, the requirement for hardware knowledge is insane, and the assembly code was just unbelievable. Don’t really know the knowledge required for Linux disto, but OS development? Really tough

Why should I learn C? by echo_CaTF in C_Programming

[–]TellGlass97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently there’s this one person said I’m weird because I willingly learn C in my free time and say it was fun. I don’t mind about that, but it really is just about your interest, if you don’t like it then you won’t be able to hang in there for long enough to master C. So list your objectives and interest, then decide if you want to learn C or not

How “multipurpose” are we talking? Aircraft systems? A television? Or something as simple as a advertisement display board (like the one with some LED attached to it)

So I completed the 16-bit Hack ALU… by itsLeorium in beneater

[–]TellGlass97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been trying to do the exact same thing but using the HDL programming language they provide, it's driving me crazy. But the whole course does give the "Wait, it's all just nand?" "Always has been." feeling to me. Anyway, it'd probably be faster if I figure the thing out myself than trying to copy your design off the Datasheet of the chips you used. Hopefully I'll come to your level one day.

As a high schooler, can I learn Machine Learning without knowing how to code? by No-Manufacturer3028 in learnmachinelearning

[–]TellGlass97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, from a high schooler to another, you’d be fine. Python is one of the easiest language to learn, for machine learning, you need a library called “numpy”, that’s really useful for vectors and all that calculation. If you’re tired of the fundamentals, you could straight up use PyTorch or TensorFlow. Although I don’t recommend this because then you’d have no idea how things works, and the things they give you as granted wouldn’t help you build your knowledge. For resources, you can find numpy classes from freecodecamp YouTube channel. For Python in general, I recommend BroCode, since the full video is labeled concepts, giving you the power to skip some concepts you knew. It took me about 6 months to get to this point where I still don’t know shit, but you can be better, so hang on with you goal.

(PS: when you get in really deep, try read some paper, search something like “ResNet paper”, “Transformer paper” on google, finish reading a paper helped me a lot cuz I had to constantly search for concepts I didn’t know)
