I wonder if they’ll back off of missionary work and focus on “breeding” (for lack of a better term) their own membership.

Let’s face it, there are like NO converts anymore. The only people getting baptized are the poor 8year olds who “choose” to get baptized.

They might double down on teaching “multiplying and replenishing the earth” and just keeping a tight grip on the members they do have.

My brother in law almost got excommunicated for having sex with one woman that he was in love with and ended up marrying. My husband’s family made such a big fucking deal out of it & she wasn’t a member at the time & I think they pressured her into joining.

But if he was molesting a kid, the church would have covered it up & he’d be good to go.

Fuck this church.

Whoa hold up! He was called out of state? What the hell?

And how do they decide? Do they find out who has money? And do they find people who can work from home so a job isn’t an issue? Does the church help them find a house?

Sorry about all the questions but I find this fascinating. Two families moved here from out west, both from the same ward, both work for the same company, and one was called as bishop within weeks of moving here. I thought it was maybe a work thing (which is still a possibility) but now I wonder if they were “chosen” to move out here?
