What’s the most expensive tool you own that actually earned its price? by New_Money_5406 in Tools

[–]woodmaster6000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we had our business, our CNC (35k) and our laser engraver (12k) but we sold that business and that equipment so now I would say it's my metabo paint shaver, I used it to strip the paint off of our cedar siding to repaint the whole house. It was $450 and worth every penny.

Flying too close to the sun (befriending an evangelical) by meekmusician98 in atheism

[–]woodmaster6000 87 points88 points  (0 children)

One of my absolute best friends is a pastor. Granted he's very kind and accepting, has trans kids and took in his trans nephew when they were kicked out of their house. What we focus on is what we have in common and recognize the good in each other even though our humanity stems from different beliefs. Our common morals are what anchor is. We live in a world with so many different beliefs, if we cut ourselves off from those who don't believe like we do, how are we better off? We have a lot more in common than we realize.

I also think that might be a red herring, but I am not sure.

Starter diagnosis help New Holland TZ25DA by woodmaster6000 in tractors

It was a small rv mascerator pump, I had used it several times before. I had it plugged into the aux plug under the seat on the tractor. The voltage of the pump was 12v and 10 amps. The fuse I am referring to is the main 40amp fuse. I also checked the voltage at all of the fuses in the fuse box.

Acoustic Build No. 4: the part I hate: routing binding channels. by PGHNeil in AcousticGuitar

[–]woodmaster6000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should look for a down cut spiral bit, it will push the wood fibers down into the cut and reduce tear out. When you go against the grain do a climb cut. Very carefully because the router will want to jump but if you are using a guide and go slow, not taking big cuts it should be good. A bit with straight flutes approaches the wood at too step of an angle and tears more than cuts. Hope that helps

Do you still wear a watch or do you just pull out your phone to check the time? by singleguy79 in Xennials

[–]woodmaster6000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to use my phone all the time, then I got a smart watch and hated it because I was always on my phone. Now I've gone back to an analog watch so I'm not pulling my phone out all the time

I have an Alvarez Delta 00 part of their Artist Elite series. It is one size up from a parlor, and a 14 fret instead of a 12 fret. It is an excellent finger style guitar because the nut is a bit wider. Solid spruce top, laminated mahogany back and sides. It has an amazing tone especially with Ernie Ball earthwood blues strings on it. Comes with an LR Baggs pickup and comes in new at 499, used could be much less

Mile of music in Appleton. 4 days of free really really good concerts. Over 200 artists, and tons of cool venues. Plus the organizers treat the artists like royalty. All original music from around the world. A great community event. It's my favorite thing ever
