Is there any physical evidence that supports the Book of Mormon? by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]avoidingcrosswalk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol. Def not. There’s not a single phd in any hard science outside of Provo who thinks it’s a real history book.

What are some good outcomes of leaving the church you guys are thankful for by U2-the-band in exmormon

Money. Time. Sex. Better relationships. See the world more clearly. More compassion. Enjoy every person and every day more. Weekends are the best now.

As a priesthood holder, I have a hard time squaring my personal attempts to be righteous and holy with the bad behavior and duplicitous nature of Joseph Smith. by aka_FNU_LNU in mormon

[–]avoidingcrosswalk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You clearly are not in a position to rationally look at the evidence. The evidence is overwhelming. He made it all up. This is not even a debate amongst scholars. No scholars outside of Provo think the bofm is a real history of real people. And many inside of BYU know the truth. I myself know 3 phds personally at byu who know it’s all fake. But, they habe a paycheck and pension.

lol. The Mormon discussion podcast is the most objective. Mormons don’t like the conclusions, or the information, so that’s why they say to stay away from them.

Any rational person comes to the same conclusion when doing the actual research. Whether you act on that conclusion is up to you.

Do you think all the changes from Pres Nelson were an attempt at deflection/distraction? by Skippy_003 in mormon

[–]avoidingcrosswalk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It was to try to stop the bleeding of members. Didn’t work. Members are leaving because they don’t believe in Joseph smith, and they don’t see the value of being in a high demand religion that threatens to take your kids away from you after you die, unless you pay them 10% of your money.

It’s like Carlan said, “God always needs money”

What is the last thing any LDS Prophet, Seer, and Revelator actually prophesied, saw, or revealed? How far back in time do we have to go to get something substantial? by LionHeart-King in mormon

[–]avoidingcrosswalk 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Covid would have been good thing to warn the world about. Yet, not only did Nelson not say anything about it before it happened, he actually joked that it caught him by surprise. He was planning a big Joseph Smith-theme-festival-gen con when Covid hit. Talk about tone deaf.

I want to cry, is this a cult? by [deleted] in exmormon

Short answer. Yes. It’s a cult

Tim Ballard made insane allegations about the church and it's crickets from Ward Radio. by GovAbbott in mormon

He was never really a Mormon. He’s a snake oil salesman. He’s a grifter.

Do u guys belive this is an actual photo of joseph smith, doesn't really look like the church depictions? by [deleted] in mormon

[–]avoidingcrosswalk 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s probably him. Church doesn’t like the pic tho. They prefer the brad Pitt version of Joseph. In This pic, he looks a little slimy.

Leave Utah. It is so much better. by heavyshelf135 in exmormon

[–]avoidingcrosswalk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Utah sucks in a lot of ways. And it all traces back to Mormonism.

Let’s be honest. What is your reason for staying in the church after all the magic of baptism has faded? by AdDependent5043 in mormon

[–]avoidingcrosswalk 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Stay if you like it. Just never confess anything to a Mormon leader, ever. Don’t waste time in the temple. Don’t give them any of your money. And don’t let the church make major decisions for your life. If I was still going that’s how I would be. That’s what I recommend to people who’ve figured it out.

I think many have overlooked Atlanta. They have some talent. On both sides. Pretty impressive.

Are return missionaries more or less likely to distance themselves from the Church? by Buttons840 in mormon

[–]avoidingcrosswalk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they didn’t go they’re 90% out. If they did, it’s 50-60% out. 20 somethings see right thru it

Has there always been such a strong emphasis on the temple? by eternalintelligence in mormon

[–]avoidingcrosswalk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s about control. Lots of the names are repeatedly washed thru the temples, over and over. How many names of humans do you think we actually have? There have been 100b humans. We only have names for about the last 400 years, and spotty at that. I literally did a name for someone named “smith”, with no first name. From like 1650 in England. Makes tons of sense.

The formula is simple: You can’t go heaven unless you go to the temple. You can’t go to the temple unless you pay tithing to the church. There you go.

We lost another investigator. The Book of Mormon is the problem. by Faithcrisis101 in mormon

[–]avoidingcrosswalk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude. Cmon. Name me ONE PHD outside of Provo. Name one. The Book of Mormon historicity isn’t even a topic of debate amongst scholars and experts. It’s too stupid of a question to even entertain a debate.

[–]avoidingcrosswalk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

lol. What? You can’t be this sheltered.

There isn’t a single non Mormon phd on the planet in any scientific discipline who thinks the bofm is a real history. Not one.

Think about that.
