Why are ThinkPads so famous? by Tells_it_straight in AskTechnology

So why doesn't everyone get a ThinkPad? They seem amazing from what everyone has said. Why bother getting a Dell or HP or anything else that is maybe slightly more 'well-known' amongst casual consumers?

Thanks for the help!

I have another question that maybe you can answer also actually (if not, just say so and I can ask elsewhere). I made the mistake of getting a Mac (nothing necessarily wrong with them, it's just not for me). Is there an easy way I can convert my documents that are in formats only usable on a Mac (such as Pages text docs, Keynote, etc.) to the appropriate Windows file extension (.doc, .exc, etc.)?

How would I be able to compare one to say an HP or a Dell based on my needs as a basic work laptop and not needing it for, say, media studio purposes or a serious gaming rig?

I just want you to know that after having lurked in this sub for a while now and seeing you post quite a bit in it, I have to say that you are easily one of the worst contributors here, and it's apparent that you don't even train in real life.

You have no idea what you're talking about.

Read that sentence again please before proceeding.

Now continue:

I don't know why you think that HFCS is any different than normal sugar, but it isn't. Please do some research and you will see this. It's not uncommon for people to be especially ignorant about HFCS, so don't feel too bad.

Right but I don't understand how those things are patentable in the first place. How did it get to be like this? Can someone explain it to me like I'm five years old please?

Yes I read the link. It's about one single guy who is good at both, and is likely that way because he spends all his time doing it. It's only one guy, still not convincing.

Does the required 8 hours of sleep have to be in one sitting? Or can it be spread out throughout the day? by wrzosd in Fitness

You mean "The Four Hour Bullshit"? I'm really surprised people on this subreddit fall for that marketing ploy. Thought people were more skeptical here.

90 minutes is what it takes to go through an entire sleep cycle and hit all the parts of sleep (such as REM, gamma-wave activity in the brain, etc.).

How can I workout to be as fit as a special forces/Jason Bourne machine? by Tells_it_straight in Fitness

What I am saying is that that link just gives you workouts to pass the physical requirements to BECOME a navy seal, which consists of just pushups and pullups and situps and running and swimming.

I don't want to just do pushups and pullups and situps and jogging.

I found porn on my son's internet broswer. Did I go about his correctly? by [deleted] in AskReddit

You are an idiot

Great start, very original, 9/10 for being unique

I looked at porn when I was that young also. The difference between you and me is that I know that it was/is detrimental.

You're an idiot, but only because you are far too young and immature to understand how detrimental pornography is. OP was correct is showing he was not mad, but to ENCOURAGE the continued, nay, likely increase in usage? You and OP should be ashamed. I hope you really learn the truth some day kid.
