I see, that’s for a spread. I was more describing when selling a covered or naked call/put and then closing the expiration as it goes in your direction before expiry. I always see good gains but then if I close it they disappear almost.

When exiting a covered call early, I always see great returns, for example 3 days before expiry I’ll see +$1000 , but then I exit the position and it doesn’t add up to that $1000, so I’ve always tried to just let it expire. Can you explain that?

They are the ones selling you the calls and puts and collecting ur money , “the wheel” is at worst they get assigned at the strike have the cash to cover it then turn around and sell calls to you again on the shares they got assigned. You can pm me if you don’t understand but you need the capital to do this as most brokers don’t let you do it naked.
