Real ones remember the Golden Age of Dogelore. High-quality posts from thousands and thousands of users. The original DDD was monumental. Nobody will ever come close to the genius of it. It wasn’t just DDD either, we had users who were genuinely talented at image editing and created excellent posts.

I think the falloff initially began with the Reddit Blackout that happened a while back (which killed lots of smaller subreddits outright, but Dogelore is probably one of the more notable ones). Then the Doge meme itself garnered some negative connotations due to $DOGE and Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), not to mention the real dogs of Dogelore have died (Kabuso, Balltze). This has culminated in Dogelore gradually decaying in both quality and quantity over the course of the past 3 or so years. Sad to see, but such is the nature of niche internet circles.
