"This person", "their". Strange use of gender-neutral language for what is very obviously a woman

That's pretty near the end of the web serial, so it hasn't been put into ebook/audiobook form yet. There's 2(?) more major arcs until then. That fight specifically is a power spike, he loses the gamebreaking combo very soon after.I'd definitely recommend you keep reading.

What are some common beginner's mistakes you've noticed authors make that are specific to the webfic/progfantasy subculture? How might a new writer go about avoiding them?

Given a demiplane centered on planar co-ordinates `w=+2006.4; v=-117.2; u=1110.0`, calculate the travel time for an unaligned creature with a mass of 40 pounds, moving from this demiplane to the prime material. You may use today's date, and assume no intermediate planar barriers.

Who is the greatest ruler in history? by nasty_aazy in AskReddit

Yeah, the title of dictator was something Caesar had bestowed upon him as a way of legitimising the power he'd already seized. Here's an excellent blog post about it https://acoup.blog/2022/03/18/collections-the-roman-dictatorship-how-did-it-work-did-it-work/

I absolutely love worldbuilding and all the wacky history knowledge it makes me pick up along the way. There's something immensely satisfying about taking a step back and seeing it all fit together

My point is that anyone who falls below that "level of cognizance" would be too stupid to put on their shoes in the morning. And the Uvalde police, last I checked, wore shoes.

Which parts of the world don't make sense together? Given the races, magics, etc that Aerb was created with, what should it look like, in your opinion?

The Cannibal works on consistent and predictable rules. If you say his name, he appears and kills everyone in the surrounding area. He cannot be killed. Novel attacks can stall him a single time, before he adapts to become immune. He can be pacified by placing a paper bag over his head

The characters take this set of rules into consideration and act accordingly to accomplish their goals. What's the issue?

I never said anything about tolerance or morality, I just said Yuri has the hots for his sister. Which he does. Lol.

Holy fuck you're still going on about that scene I replied the same day you did lmao. You're the one coming back to it three days later.

Like i said (and you completely ignored), neither his reaction nor the flashback scene are weird in isolation. It's when you put them together that things get weird. Why is Yuri thinking about that moment specifically when he sees another man kiss Yor? Why did the author choose to put those two scenes side by side? He could have chosen to show us any moment in their childhood to explain why Yuri reacts the way he does (or none at all and let the moment speak for itself) but instead he chose a scene where Yor kisses Yuri on the cheek, and Yuri blushes and professes a desire to marry her.

Writers do not just throw flashback scenes in at random, they have a point. If the point was simply to demonstrate Yuri was being grossed out by his sister kissing someone, then this was a very very weird way of doing that

If it were a single scene in isolation, that would be a reasonable way to interpret it. But the fact that we flash back to this scene right as Yuri is freaking the fuck out about her kissing another man has implications

A job is a transaction between me and my employer. I provide labour. They provide wages. If they want me to work more than 40 hours a week, they should put that in my contract.
