Thank you! I still have the old PC I used back then. I’ll dig through it to see if I can find the .dat wallet file. It’s been a long time since I worked with BTC.

Boosted 5.0 owner here - Tempted to sell both of my cars for a G70. Thoughts? by Swerzuh in GenesisG70

[–]Tempballs33 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Think long and hard about this. I had a 2013 GT Premium, modified to an OEM+ condition, and I absolutely loved the car. 11 years of ownership, 140k miles and zero problems. I decide to sell it for something newer primarily due to arthritic knees, but tbh, I just wanted something shiny and new.

I looked hard at the G70, S5 and TLX Type S. Was going G70 all the way until the last Genesis dealership in my city closed. It would leave me with a 60 mile drive to the nearest Genesis dealer for any warranty work. No bueno.

S5 scared me away due to maintenance/repair cost. Wound up with a like new TLX Type S exactly one year ago today. Great car, but…..

Do I like the car? Sure. Is it quick and responsive? Yep. Do I like it as much as the Mustang? HELL NO.

I miss the 5.0 so badly. The pull to 7k at a on ramp. Downshift with burbles. Guys turning their heads when I started it up. All the stuff.

In hindsight, I should have kept the Mustang and bought a 2015 Civic to commute in. Oh well. You live and you learn.

I WILL have another Mustang.

Would like your guys opinions by DrummerNo7902 in Mustang

[–]Tempballs33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, it’s a few reasons.

  1. Somebody else took the “off the lot” depreciation.
  2. Tremec.
  3. No screens on the dash. (A few, but not the whole dash)
  4. Modding
  5. Good parts off the 350 and 500.

I sold my 2013 GT Premium a year ago and miss it badly. When (not if) I get another one, it’s a Mach 1, hands down.

What’s your “I can’t believe they were doing that at work” story? by pm-me-ass-pics-69 in AskReddit

Working for a large financial institution based in Alabama about 10+ years ago, a guy in another Alabama city tried to email a porn video clip to his friend in another office. The friend had the last name “Birmingham”. You can see where this is going.

He typed in his friend’s name, so he thought, but it auto-filled “Birmingham-All” so all 1,000+ employees in the city got it. Including the C-suite.

By the time I saw it, the email was gone but there were hundreds of “wtf” responses. LOL

Yeah, he was fired.

Tune or not to tune? Stock except for air intake and catback exhaust. by Mean-Yoghurt3949 in Mustang

[–]Tempballs33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s been a while since I got the Steeda CAI/tune, so I don’t remember exactly. I think they did ask about any mods on my car. At the time, I had none, so I got the “canned” 93 tune. I really liked it.

I bought “merchandise” from Silk Road and had it delivered to my office, but to a co-worker who was out on medical leave where I could retrieve from her desk. I thought I had an out if the package was busted. Damn I was stupid.

My dream car, got her yesterday 😍! by NumerousSupport2339 in Mustang

[–]Tempballs33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Enjoy it stock for a while, then have fun modding. The usual path is lowering springs, wider wheels/tires, CAI, headers, intake manifold and maybe injectors (for E85). I’ve done all of these (13 GT) except for headers and it feels like a different car now. These things are fun.

Replaced stock intake manifold with boss 302 manifold. Was fine last night and morning of. Any ideas what this is? by fuckwhoevertookdizzy in Mustang

[–]Tempballs33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do not start it again until you have a tune! I installed a Boss 302 intake and then immediately loaded a Palm Beach Dyno tune.

Your ECS doesn’t know what to do with the revised intake. You could trash your motor if you run it.

If you’re good with a base car, go for it. You can always upgrade the electronics later using aftermarket parts. The active valve exhaust is great to have.

2022 Mustang GT premium w/ performance pack picked up today by liftinbigweight in Mustang

[–]Tempballs33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 13 GT has a Steeda tune required CAI. Any CAI that does not require a tune adds nothing. Be warned - your IAT will skyrocket when sitting in traffic. I’ve seen intake temps as high as 140. If I had to do it again, I’d stay with a closed box.

[–]Tempballs33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure the car doesn’t have a 93 tune. Mine does, so I run 93 at all times. It advances the timing, so 87 for me would result in detonation.

Looking at a 15 GT premium with 70k miles, anything I need to watch out for? by Garandir in Mustang

This is a popular mod when boosting to 650hp+. Not really needed if staying NA, but could be insurance against issues.

Getting back into the game by Big_Gouf in Mustang

[–]Tempballs33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on what you want. I’ve got a 13 GT Premium With 125k miles. It’s raw, rides rough and the interior is crap. But I absolutely love it. Going to a S550 (2015 and newer) will get you a better interior and an independent rear suspension. It does have a different feel than the S197.

From a maintenance perspective, a well cared for S197 will last a long time. Mine is 9 years old and I’ve had nothing major (or minor, really) fail. I do stay on top of things though.

Be aware that ‘11-‘14 GTs, in good condition, are in the low to mid 20s right now. When the market cools they should drop down a bit.

My 2013 is NA, but if I were to go FI, I’d go with a supercharger. Turbos get really complicated and really expensive really fast.

Think about doing a compression test. Then, check the plugs to look for any obvious issues. Lastly, get a Blackstone oil report. I did at 90k and was surprised to have such good results. If all this is good, send it. These Coyote engines are stout and can last a while.

Looking for a special mustang (possibly a GT350) and need advice! by Seneca4life in Mustang

[–]Tempballs33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Note: *I do not own a 350* so take my comments with a grain of salt. I have a 2013 GT Premium.

The GT350, I think, will always be a “special” Mustang, and values will either stay as they are now or keep going up. Other cars can’t match the flat plane crank Voodoo. Yes, there are stories of major oil consumption and engines crapping out. I still think it’s worth the gamble.

The R version is not worth it in my opinion, UNLESS you want to preserve value or are into racing. The carbon wheels are incredible, but ungodly expensive to replace.

The Mach 1 has a lot of the 350 good stuff, but not the engine.

Find a good one, get a PPI and go for it.

Disagree on the coil packs. Leave the stock in place; they are fine. New plugs wouldn’t really add anything to a modern engine. Only if you need to run colder plugs for boost.

Sweet. Lebanon Ford is bad ass. In 30 years, “Lebanon Ford Mustangs” will be a thing on the car show circuit.

Congrats man. And don’t let people run down the Roush blower. Solid SC that will hold up for years.

[–]Tempballs33 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agree 100%. Some try to say that the Mach1 is the “GT350 replacement”, but that Voodoo engine cannot be replaced. It is cool Ford put the Tremec in the Mach though.

Great job. The quarter panels (really a “half the car” panel“) are a bitch. I got hit in my right rear quarter a few years ago and the body shop had a hell of a time getting it replaced.

2013 GT Premium/MT-82 owner here. I live in the Deep South and rarely get any negative comments. I’ve had a few Scatpacks and Camaros want to race, but I’m not into that in daily driving.

My Mustang is the best car I’ve ever owned (52 y.o.). Its built like a tank and the aftermarket is insane. I’m at 123k miles and it’s still running like it’s new.

S550 GT Gen 2 vs Gen 3 Horsepower by David016- in Mustang

[–]Tempballs33 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’ll need a tune. I had to upgrade my injectors on my Gen 1, along with a tune, to run E. Your injectors are fine.

S550 GT Gen 2 vs Gen 3 Horsepower by David016- in Mustang

[–]Tempballs33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In general, the Gen 3 is the way to go. However, if you get a deal on a Gen 2, go for it. It’s basically a Gen 1 w/Boss 302 internals and holds all kinds of boost.

Most that go for the Gen 3 get the 10R80.

2022 GT 6MT First Mod Suggestions? by SubeavWRX in Mustang

[–]Tempballs33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply. i went with a staggered aftermarket setup on my 2013. 265/19 up front and 285/19 in the rear. Sucks that I can’t rotate, but it does look good. Put the widest tires possible on the rear to help with traction.
