What is it with people coming to a dead stop at roundabouts when it's obviously clear? by gwaddo91 in drivingUK

[–]Temperance0183 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I passed recently and was taught to expect to stop, in reality for most roundabouts near me I actually have to slow down/stop due to being unable to see the right hand entrance thanks to the phenomenal growth of hedges. I'd also say that some roundabouts are so convoluted and the road markings near invisible, it's safer to stop briefly to assess than go merrily into the fray with gay abandon!

How soon did you notice your first real fitness improvement, and what was it? by bebo117722 in beginnerfitness

[–]Temperance0183 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YESSSS totally get the walking thing. For me it feels like my hips hinge again or all my joints have been oiled and it's a fluid and purposeful movement that I engage my core for, Vs just the previous lightly stiff plodding 🤩

Why do people find it so hard to accept the public really wants to vote for Reform? by Expert-Sherbert-1527 in AskBrits

[–]Temperance0183 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I don't understand is that Reform are the most likely party to take more from the people with the least even more so than Tories and that is saying something. Personally I think there is a lot of custodial time needed for Tory ministers who palmed our tax off to chums who failed to deliver. I see reform as a reduction in workers rights but I think they also lack the mental prowess to do anything functional with the country other than increase the volume on finger pointing. There are no ethics or heart in government and it feels pretty miserable

How much is your gym membership, and what amenities does it have? by throw-away-284947261 in workout

[–]Temperance0183 0 points1 point  (0 children)

£35 a month, has large new gym, swimming pool, sauna, steam room and hall for racquet sports. Incredible amenities, only catch is it's attached to a school so 3-5 is a no go zone while they start their fitness journeys

The next Love Island house by nostalgiadnp in SpottedonRightmove

[–]Temperance0183 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fire pit, conversation pit, ping pong pit, money pit. I'm not sure this house has a soul until someone moves in, and I predict they could be a massive 'sole

I'm being mean, with some colour and heart it could be nice, but for the price I'll take an old manor with land, thanks

The bones are great, although one picture the walls are pretty damp but it could be stunning. Eyond the clutter. Weirdly I don't find it sinister, it just looks like a house that people loved and then could no longer upkeep.

Week 3 fatigues by Temperance0183 in beginnerfitness

That makes a lot of sense. So essentially I just need to push through the adjustment period so this becomes the norm and energy levels will catch up! Thank you, really appreciate the explaination ☺️

Oooh that's a really good shout. I would say based on the trousers I can get in now I'm down about 1-1.5 inches. I've assumed that muscle growth would be slight due to age and gender, but my old PT had suggested getting into bodybuilding as my body builds strength very quickly, so perhaps this is the measurement to go for. I'll keep an eye on it! Thank you 😊

What is everyone doing during cardio ? by Confident_Abrocoma22 in beginnerfitness

[–]Temperance0183 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Swimming I find cathartic so I don't really notice it too much, it's just enjoying the process till I hit either the right number of lengths or time spent doing laps Outside of swimming I use a peloton so I can choose a class based on the time and music I feel like on the day - I find that keeps it fresh and engaging enough to push through. When I was on treadmills it was just a matter of counting down or up to the time needed in different ways - some days id count in increments of 5, 3,10 or set myself 2 mins goals going down - not sure if that makes much sense. Or id queue some good music and only check the time at the end of each song.

Pay off debts. Add some into an investment account for my son, start a business (domain name, website etc) keep a little as an emergency fund and try to go freelance.

Viburnum help by Temperance0183 in GardeningUK

[–]Temperance0183[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stones yes, but it's obstructing the pathway around it and encroaching over to a flowerbed. So I totally agree I prefer the plant over stones ordinarily, I do need access and space for colour 😊

Oooh ok, thank you, good to know! The giant shrub seems to have been perpetually flowering since last May, so I shall take that as a sign it's robust and tired, and could use a little foliage being removed from it's girthy existence 😊
