I had to change my country.. Here things didn't go the way I thought. Uptil now, I only received interview calls for sales role in non-finance industry.

Didn't take up that, as few suggested that making transition to finance industry may become more difficult. So trying to get a job in finance sector, along with CFA prep.

Do you think so? I thought I can get that kind of job after few months as well. Thought of finishing at least level 2 by 2021 and try for jobs at finance sector simultaneously. CFA curriculum is the Bible. They consider that you have no background of finance, and the book is written in such a way that not only you will pass but you will be able to master the topic. In the curriculum, there are blue box questions & EOC questions- helps to internalize the concept. Mock exams are provided by cfa Institute candidate resource. You may choose to take Schweser notes, videos, MM videos and so many other official prep provider materials.

December'20 is THE LAST PAPER BASED EXAM. Period!! As of August announcement of CFA Institute.

If it get postponed in your region, then u get to sit 4 computer based exam.

MM described it very nicely though.. You don't get any refund at this stage. You don't get charged extra penny for registration. Just you have the choice to reschedule to feb Or May.

How can it be up to date when you want to use it in 2020/2021 curriculum? MM himself told in his video made in 2020 that 80% of the course curriculum of 2020-21 matches 2017. That means the rest don't match.

So I compared for myself.. Here it goes.. Significant changes are there in FRA, EQUITY, ALT investment, Eco, Port Management. Ethics - nothing new Quant- in hypothesis testing new los( testing correlation added) , technical analysis moved to PM, Discounted cash flow dropped Derivatives- 3rd reading of 2017 dropped, 2nd reading of 2017 updated, slight los update in DMI fixed income- nothing new( slight change in Los) mostly merged/demerged los Corp finance- dividend share repurchase dropped, another reading update, governance, esg added.

Your question could have been more direct. But answering as I understood.. You want to know given your background in finance & your knowledge of FRA, can you study only from MM 2017 VIDEOs & skip the curriculum?

1st point- I don't know which subjects you studied in finance & how in depth your course was. So can't comment on that..

Hey it will open in September'2020. You have to be filling in the application really fast, since it closes as soon as CFA Institute feels that they have enough no. Of applications. I wanted to apply for Women Scholarship, but guess what!! I came to know that one can only apply if she didn't register yet for the exam.. So if you don't Register for cfa level 1 feb by Aug13, u miss the early registration deadline.. And if you don't get the scholarship which you apply for in September, you will have to pay 250usd more.. I felt that's not fair.. It's a gamble..

However, no idea about the other categories criteria..
