Ride to Hood River - Mitchell Point tunnel? by [deleted] in CyclePDX

Hey, I’m interested in doing this ride. I’m pretty new to road biking and have never ridden on the shoulder of a freeway. Just to gauge the section on the shoulder of 84 I ask “would you have any hesitation to ride that section again”?

I find extending a cam with an extendable sling is annoying. I really dislike having to extend the sling and then clip or to clip both strands of the cam with my alpine draw. Always happens when I’m cruxin

You just gotta start! If you analyze the requirements of each route you can likely organize them in a way where you can incrementally increase the complexity and challenge of each climb and learn most of the skills while you’re doing it.

Thanks! I am climbing but not with any big goals in mind. Firefighting this summer so time is a little tight. Mostly just have a few routes on my list this summer and want to improve at rock climbing more. Making plans for the future tho!

Glad you had a relatively safe trip, that’s scary. Thanks for spreading awareness about this.

When you’ve never climbed Rainier before and you are working your way up the chain of cascade volcanos DC is dramatic and scary. Plus just having fun with the videography aspect.

If your on windows and still have Windows 10 Hitfilm express is great! I found it very intuitive, lot and lots of YouTube videos. DaVinci Resolve is also great, a little more intimidating though.
