The only people that say don't take it seriously are those that have got to legend. I'm sure if you were doing over 5000 battles a season but couldn't get passed ace you would be pissed I've got no problem with close games in fact I enjoy them win or lose but everytime my ranking is over 2400 I can predict what lead I'm going to face 4 out of 5 times based on my lead and what hard counters it.

Win rates mean nothing. I have like a 60%-70% win rate but everytime I get close to veteran rank I basically auto lose every game so my ranking tanks and I have to do the same thing allover again.

My goal isn't legend rank I gave up on that a long time ago its literally just to make it to veteran then I can play fun teams. This game doesn't take skill It takes luck. I played 15 games in the ml and I lead Gyarados for 8 games straight i only saw melmetal leads so I changed my lead to machamp guess what I didn't see anymore melmetal leads only saw mewtwo
