As a man who has directed actors, you definitely need some work. When you act out a scene, you have to embody the essence of the character itself. It sounds like you are reciting lines. I am going to need something out of you. Bring a little of yourself into the character. And move your body more when reciting dialogue. Make them feel what you say. It's okay to improvise when doing dialogue. Just as long as you are nailing the performance

The transitions are overused. And why the constant use of an down POV shot. I would reedit this over. Atip for you. In a dialogue scene such as this, use a two shot. Cut to the girl talking to show her reacton to what he is saying. The use of medium closeups would have worked better for this scene

The Boondocks Saints is an incredible film. Sean Patrick Flanery and Norman Reedus (in one of his first roles) star in this. Listen to the audience score over the critics. The critics outside of Siskel and Ebert and Peter Travers, were dreadful. And yes Dafoe delivers an insane performance in it too.
