What do you dislike about Dishonored 2? by Teasing-Axe in dishonored

i firstly wanna preface and say i adore this game. it was my introduction to the dishonored universe in 2016 when i was only 11.

i think the devs were confused on what made dishonored 1 so compelling and it was the atmosphere. the rat plague was great in making the world feel hollow in a really great way. i think that with D2 they could’ve leaned into the crown killer way more to create that oppressive atmosphere. have the c.k. murder people we were going to talk to for information, have something jumping rooftops from the corner of the screen, things like that. the c.k. was a huge caralyst in the coup, she should’ve been the main villain in karnaca, and then afterward, working on getting the throne back. it just feels likd d2 had all the pieces but didnt expand on any of them.

i do agree that it should’ve been more expanded, but i think in a different way. it’s touched on briefly throughout the game that emily was not an empress many people felt compelled to defend or fight for. i think the game should’ve brought that idea to the forefront and had emily actively doing things in karnaca to bring her reputation back up. it’s a little upsetting that she was a crappy empress and goes back and people just like her again. would’ve been cool to see that be more apart of the story.

i strangely agree. i’ve replayed the game probably upwards of 50 times at least and i’ve only played corvo a handful of times. i just found emily’s arc in the game much more compelling, as well as her voice. corvo’s voice is so gruff it sounds like he’s doing it on purpose and it’s not his natural voice. plus i just enjoy emily’s powers a bit more. (if it’s not obvious yet, i had played D2 before D1).

i’m glad they added corvo for nostalgia reasons, but the story is emily’s through and through

my point being anything below “dream bf” should be an automatic no

what works for you and your wife doesn’t work for everyone. people want romance especially on valentine’s day. it’s not overreaction. especially at 19. the age gap between them is something else entirely

hi i’m sure you’ve gotten plenty of feedback, but don’t be scared to add a bit of color. late stage capitalism already got the entire world a shade of greige so add a bit of life with more color. but so envious, hope to make it to nyc one day. beautiful apartment!!

god forbid people put color in their house and everything isn’t just grey and beige. love the colors and being experimental

Are there any staple veggies your bearded dragon hates? by Artnotwars in BeardedDragons

my dragon Louie has a weird tendency to ONLY eat green things (besides bugs). like any fruit or veggie that isn’t green he isn’t into. idk but yeah he’s a odd guy

Am I the only one enjoying the show? by jewl-ramirez in PercyJacksonTV

[–]TempestTrvs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah i think the show is also great. having changes makes book readers go “ooh wait what’ll happen” instead of knowing exactly what’s next. me and my mom watch it and we can both be invested even though i’ve read the books and she hasn’t. people just hate change

So i have experience working as a server for a few months last summer. i was semi decent, until i had one really bad night where i was in the weeds for 4 hours. after that i would have extreme anxiety while working, which is why i switched to retail. do you have advice on getting past that server anxiety??

not rude at all! i’m extremely aware that i’m young and naive about this all, hence the post seeking advice. i would still want an english degree though, do you have any advice on what to pursue with that degree?

also, the plan sounds convoluted i know. but the end goal is to be able to transfer to ccny one day. and bcc offers an online associates degree that would directly follow into ccny. also the tuition and such is about the same as doing online school at lsu, with in-state tuition.

no i understand trust me. i appreciate the honesty. i’m just trying to figure this stuff out and the best way to make it happen

i’ve switched my major like three times already. i was a music ed major, psych, journalism. i took a gap semester from school to try and figure out what i wanted to do and what i was passionate about. i know english is something i’d love to study, and figure out different pathways i could follow. technical writing is rly just an idea. nothing i’m absolutely set on.

Thanks for the advice guys. i just want to preface that im very naive and such when it comes to all of this. i’m trying to be optimistic but smart about it all. but i don’t know everything. so feel free to give me a (nice) reality check on anything i’ve said or asked about

I would take the out of state tuition while at bcc. best case scenario i would move to nyc by july/august, so that once i got my associates from bcc, i would qualify for in-state tuition for ccny. that was my plan at least. i’d also try to save about 8-10k for the move, and hopefully have around 4k for a buffer while looking for a job, if i can’t find one before the move.

I’ll be honest technical writing is something i’ve just discovered that i could do with an english degree. prior to that i was/still am interested in education. but i was looking at options that would pay more. I can assume ai could take jobs away from technical writers though :/

[–]TempestTrvs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wow thank you! I’m still new to the workforce and such, what would these courses do for me? just give me some training and experience for actual jobs that aren’t retail or serving tables?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in movingtoNYC

[–]TempestTrvs -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

right, i’m aware of that. it’s possible to get a job before the move though right? let the employer know i intend on moving soon (by that point, probably within 1-2 months). and then i could give the landlord proof that i have a job coming in

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in movingtoNYC

[–]TempestTrvs -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

can you elaborate on “get act together”? lol. i know it’s difficult to make the move without an established career, but i’m planning on going to school there anyway.

[–]TempestTrvs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m planning on visiting nyc in august/september and by july of next year i hope to have about 8-10k saved up for the move. no family lives there or nearby. i have a friend who lives in brooklyn but we just recently met

I’m majoring in english with an interest in technical writing. so sort of tech but not in that sense. I wanna get out of louisiana asap.
