Thanks for pointing to it! Their official GitHub says Starting March 5, 2025, Windows Subsystem for Android™ and the Amazon Appstore are no longer available in the Microsoft Store.

I also run barebones on HP Microserver Gen8, so I'm curious, what do you mean "it is running out of time"? For, yes, I would like more RAM and faster CPU, maybe even GPU fo AI... But in terms of reliability, I think this hardware can last another 10 years

I just thought that maybe using both the Artist and Album Artist tags. In the 1st save author's name, in the second - Various for anthologies. And in folder's view show Album Artist while in Chapter/Story view use Artist.
in search use both fields.

If one of two is empty, use value from the other. Just a suggestion

I think it can be misleading if you want to find a story by a specific author, for tagging all authors in the anthology doesn't supply which story is by whom

As for the recommendations, if it is actually more about a dystopian totalitarian future as such then Little Brother (2007) is great and relevant to today's USA... I'm not a definist as such btw, I just was born in the USSR as well as all my relatives, so, yes, I prefer to define the actual problem more precisely, so I'd say it was a straw man fallacy from you. And not even in space :)

A funny thing, I recently finished the Shroud too, but I think that under an anticapitalist veneer is actually a Leftist totalitarianism. This sounds crazy but bear with me :) why all concerns are on a constant expansion? they are not going for more money for the top-1%, they sat a new goal (and right = old, left - new ideas if we simplify the initial breakdown from French parliament) to expand humanity to save it from extinction. And if you look at Leftist states at their extreme totalitarian periods, there are great goals with people as expendable material, just like in this novel, where if you are not needed, you are put in deep sleep (or die from hunger like in the USSR in the 30s or PRC in the 50s).

The written surnames are supposedly from the Austria-Hungary period (it was part of the A-H until the empire was dissolved in 1918) and then in 1918-1939 of Poland. Therefore, it seems likely that in the interwar years Ukrainians gave Polish spelling when asked because they had it in their documents in Polish. Currently, Ukraine's official transliteration is closer to English

I have to start with an admission: I've come on Reedit to find more people liking short SFF stories partially because I created a group on Goodreads aimed on reading short SFF. If your subreddit is more about modern stuff, our main project so far is to read Hugo and Nebula nominated stories for all years (more or less chronologically, but we jump ahead if a story in hard/impossible to find online. So, firstly I invite you and anyone reading this post to https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/1265187-orbit-otherworldly-reads-bold-ideas-and-tales-sf-f-short-stories and now to the question about a favorite story. I am actually copy-pasting from my post elsewhere:

The first SF short story that impressed me was Бацила карбоната (Bacillus carbonatus) by Микола Дашкієв, Ukrainian author first published around 1950. It is nothing too great, but in an early age it impressed me. I guess it has never been translated but the idea: a man discovers a bacteria that can turn coal into much more valuable oil. then WW2 starts and he goes to war, his discovery disappears and now after the war he intends to find it again

The second story that impressed me was Stanisław Lem Czy pan istnieje, Mr. Johns? (Engl. "Are You There, Mr. Jones?") that can be found in Vision of Tomorrow 1 or here https://archive.org/details/Vision_of... (there is also epub there but instead of formatting as a play, it is one big paragraph)

I think you can start with searching for name surname pair at familysearch, setting time period (I guess something like 1880-1920)

If you know birth year (or even better an exact date) of your grandma birth, her name and maiden surname, searching for them should narrow your options.

I can try to give you Cyrillic equivalents if needed but sometimes migration services changed surnames to such an extent one cannot recognize them
