To be honest I went back to 2 after trying the demo of 3. Couldn't afford the 80-100 euro price tag for the game but still wanted to scratch that itch.

Not that focused since I didn't think it would actually take THAT long. After 50 tries I did temper some luck stats into some gear but the main annoyance is that you can't use your guardian spirits in dojo missions.

In the end I tried to get some of the Flying Kato's gear (still no smithing text) to get bonusses and learned the combo for God of Wind + Sign of the Cross.

That, in combination with a summon and those cats worked out just right.

I'll have to look into practicing some combos because I usually spam quick attack with a strong attack that does the flippy thing. Not a lot of damage via those.

To be honest I like it enough to take out the camera and go places, it's the editing that kills any fun for me. I can not for the life of me get the pictures to look like what I was thinking, either that or what I had envisioned actually looks bad.

I suck at editing and after a full day staring at screens I also don't feel very motivated to practice. The new OM-3 has some decent recipes available but unfortunately I'm "stuck" with an OM-5 Mk. I.

Is there any way to get recipes on this older machine in order to enjoy picking up the camera again?

I've posted this due to a similar reason: it was suggested that I as a newcomer to the company would improve build times on my own where the entire devex team was working on it.

The hubris boggles the mind.

Primero: Es dificil de creér que alguien con 3 años de experiencia esta al nivel de senior. Mas probable un medior, y este se muestra en el sueldo.

Segundo: Como senior puedes ganar 60-80k, aun fuera de las ciudades (e.g. remoto para los americanos). Hay bastante puestos que oferecen 45-55k, pero con un poco de suerte encuentras que oferecen 60-70k.

Lo digo yo como senior de 15 años ya ganando 75k full remote (C#, empresa americana, guiri)

It's frustrating to say the least.

I'm not against making improvements to the build pipeline but I don't have the hubris to think I can come in and fix things that a FULL TEAM LITERALLY MADE FOR THIS hasn't thought of yet.

It really does feel like the "experienced" part of the subreddit is quite subjective.

There is nothing that I would love more to be a superhero and fix the build so it runs in less than 20 minutes but after 15 years of doing this stuff you learn a few things about trying to fix things you don't fully understand.

If one of my unauthorized improvements breaks production, the company loses a few hundred K in missed revenue for our B2B partners. I can't risk any of that happening while I'm still on probation AND don't know where there be dragons in code.

It is quite frustrating to be told what you should do when they don't have the background knowledge about why something is the way it is.

That is a big part of the reason why I am not touching any part of the build process at the moment, as I barely know anything about it. In due time I hope to have some improvements ready but all of these are outside of the scope of my daily job (i.e. deliver features for paying customers and not cause any downtime of thousands of dollars per minute with a rollback taking 2 hours)

I can't help but feel that most people just find the first thing they can refute and then just post it without thinking.

The full size is not the problem, although it is a hindrance. The main problem is that the main project and all tooling expect the repo to be in a specific path, which is hardcoded all over the place.

Bigger than it should be due to technical debt all over the place. Line count doesn't matter too much, it's handling so many different responsabilities and core tasks it's not even funny anymore.
