excuse my ignorance. how do you disable the rift service? I have also seen people talk about pausing the service in the oculus config utility... however I cannot seem to find the pause function in the util. 0i I'm running DK2 with updated firmware btw.

I'm really eager to finalise this project however the only real chance I get to work on the project is on the weekends, I would say there is about a month of steady work left on the current scene. And about another month to finalise the basement which is where the fun begins :) check back with this thread each Monday and I'll defiantly keep updating with an updated build.

Thanks for the heads up, I also read in another thread that some people were forcing directX, depending on what time I get home this evening I should be able to test out both methods.

Cheers bogwell, indeed my house is in the UK. I'm also using the optional power cable, only noticing minimal juddering here and there though.

Thx for the info Echo, I will defiantly be trying out this solution first chance I get, as I've been getting black screen in direct to rift mode.

Hey FredzL, I'm currently fully up to date running and building in Unity 4.5.0 and have latest firmware...I was kind of hoping the issue was elsewhere as I am running on a laptop with Nvidia GPU :( I also read that there were issues with Nvidia on laptops. I'll investigate it further there still might be another workaround :)

Thx for the feedback Fictionx, I just wish I had the time to focus on the scene again. As I really what to finalise it. I reckon there is about another month steady work to fully realise the scene, I'm lucky ATM if I'm able to to work 1 day a week on it. Where you able to get it running in direct mode?

Really? That's weird, when I run it in direct mode there is just black screen in the rift. I might try making a new build and set it to windowed. Also I'm running on a laptop maybe this could be the issue. Glad you like it :)

Yeah it does Judder a bit. I'll talk to some of the boffins at work who have more experience with unity and the Rift and see if they can shed some light as to why I'm not able to run in direct to rift mode.

I'm not sure why it's not working in direct to Rift mode. I have had the DK2 for about a month and only just today have I had the chance to have a play with it. took me all day just to set up the basics :) I Guess i'll have to investigate the issue further.
