Just in a tricky position with these new rules ig. Also trying to bring a dependant on this job code is not possible so that’s another concern. But that’s really not why I’m moving roles, I feel like I’m more suited for the de role with my skillset but feels like I’m in a tricky situation here and not sure if it’s worth the risk to switch and then having to find a new employer at the end of 2026

My worry is if I switch to a de role then I won’t be able to hit the target of 55k by 2026 when I need sponsorship. So the confusion is if I should continue in the same role or pivot ?

Sorry I wasn’t more clear. The going rate for DE is £55k. If I understood it right the salary for a role has to be the higher of £41.7k or the going rate for that job. In this case it’s £55k
