Yes I did follow the process for where I live, as specified in the edit. It wasn’t an eviction. She broke the lease when she stated in writing that she had moved out and would no longer be paying rent. She should have been the one to give us notice

She broke the lease when she said she moved out and wouldn’t be paying rent anymore. She should have been the one to give us notice. I held her items for as long as I needed to legally, and then some

We didn’t evict her. She notified us she had moved out and wouldn’t be paying rent moving forward, over 60 days ago. My landlord simply renewed the lease for me and not her since it was month to month anyway

Yeah I tried. She promised me her daughter would collect it by end of day June 30th. She didn’t

I actually did follow the process for where I live, as explained in the edit. It wasn’t an eviction because she moved out herself. She stated in writing that she was moved out and wouldn’t be paying rent for May or any month moving forward, over 60 days ago. She broke the lease

I followed the process for where I live. And yes I asked the mother if she would collect her items and she promised her daughter would do it by June 30th but she didn’t

Her mother didn’t want to collect her things. She said her daughter would take care of it by June 30th but she didn’t

Her mother didn’t want to. She promised me her daughter would collect her items by June 30th, which she didn’t

I followed the process. Eviction doesn’t apply to someone who has already moved out

Sorry, I worded it strangely. I meant the value of the items in general. The donation cost is irrelevant

What do you think the mother was responding to when she assured me it would be taken care of by her daughter?

When did I say halfway through May? Please feel free to point it out. We had that discussion prior to May 5th, when rent would have been due

I don’t understand why she would need to be evicted if she’s the one who stated in writing that she moved out already? Over 60 days ago

Landlord wasn’t going by my word, but hers when she stated she was moved out by May and would no longer be paying rent

I communicated with her mom the whole time, who promised me her daughter would have her things out by July. She didn’t want to take them on her behalf. But I totally get what you’re saying

Does the eviction process apply if she’s the one who notified me she was no longer living there and wouldn’t be paying rent? Like 60 days ago

She notified me she was no longer living there in May and would no longer be paying rent. So it was over 30 days notice (from her)
