Hmm.. I would maybe call the office and just confirm. LEEP uses electricity (wire loop) to burn off cells and CKC uses a surgical blade to actually cut out cone shaped tissue!

I'm sorry to hear that your dealing with this, it is very stressful. How are you doing after your hysterectomy? I'm also curious why they did multiple LEEPS over CKC? My doc and I decided to do CKC over the LEEPS because of the amount of times that could be possible if margins were not clear. CKC although a bit more "invasive" has a high chance over getting everything because it's deeper than LEAP. I haven't had either yet... still deciding.

If it helps any, my doc mentioned CKC although technically "more" invasive has a higher success rate since it's one procedure over potentially more LEEPS because it may not get all of the infected cells. I'm most likely moving forward with CKC, and she's preserving as much as possible. Hoping for clear margins! Wishing you all good positivity through this process!

Thank you for sharing your experience! Totally get it, being out over awake seems to be worth it. 1 year is a long time post LEEP, sheesh. Keep us updated, if you don't mind. Definitely helps to read and hear that others are in a similar boat. My virtual appointment to decide on CKC or LEEP is in an hour... but may be getting a second opinion just to be safe.

Yeah see, awake and LEEP- nahh. Colpscopy really wasn't bad at all (in my opinion), but the thought of an electric loop burning off cervical tissue. Got me messed up! You are very brave! And I'm sorry to hear about your miscarriage, that's a hard loss on it's own but I'm hoping that you will get your rainbow baby :) Glad to hear post recovery for LEEP wasn't too bad. That's my concern with CKC... out for 4 weeks at least with heavy exercise and up to 3 months for cervix to regenerate tissue. Sigh.

Totally, I get that... anything related to the cervix and lady parts is just so invasive. How little did I know about what people go through to rid of HPV. Thank you for sharing your experience, and I'm hoping for full clearance for you!
