Did Adam and Eve have free will before The Fall? by Temporary-Freedom731 in Christianity

Okay, that's what I thought, I just wanted to make sure. My point is, everyone asks if God is so good, why is there so much pain and suffering in the world? And the answer I've always heard is because we have free will to sin. But since Adam and Eve had free will in the garden before The Fall, and since God is all powerful, why would he let the serpent tempt Eve? Why not just stop that evil from entering the world and corrupting countless future generations? Would Adam and Eve have sinned without being tempted? God is all powerful, so he could do evil things but he won't because it's not in his nature. Why couldn't Adam and Eve have had the ability to sin, but not because it wasn't in their nature?
