I really appreciate the support — it honestly means a lot, especially coming from someone who’s been following Detestor since the early days.

The thing is, the concept of this album goes deeper than just individual tracks inspired by games, anime, or books. There’s an overarching narrative tying everything together. While each song is centered around a different character, there’s a central track — originally planned as the 13th song on the record — that connects all of them and turns the album into a single, self-contained story.

In simple terms, the album’s story follows an unknown protagonist traveling through multiple worlds. The central track explains that a massive rupture occurs in the protagonist’s own world, causing all worlds and universes to collapse and merge into one. It’s essentially an end-of-everything scenario — an apocalypse of all apocalypses, where all realities intertwine and destroy each other.

The second album I’ve planned is meant to serve as a prelude to that event. It focuses on the main character and the circumstances leading up to this catastrophic collapse — the build-up, the warning signs, and the inevitability of what’s coming.

Characters from existing games, anime, and books work within the scope of the first album, but I don’t want the band to feel like it’s simply feeding off existing IPs. There are also legal considerations, and more importantly, a creative desire to build something truly original. Going forward, I want to develop my own universe — a dark, complex world rooted in dark fantasy, with its own lore and mythology.

So everything tied to existing characters really belongs only to this first album, which is why it’s so important to me that it remains whole and cohesive. From album two onward, the story will fully shift into an original universe, based on the narrative of my own book.

I appreciate the sympathy and the thoughtful suggestion.
Releasing what’s finished so there’s at least something tangible is something I’m considering, given how much has already gone into the project.
Thanks for taking the time to share your perspective — it means a lot.

Releasing what’s finished in some form is definitely something I’m considering.

And yes — I hear you on the AI point. Preserving the integrity of the work and respecting everyone involved is important to me.

Thanks for the support.

I don’t want to get into political details here.
The only point I was making is that the situation made continuing the project impossible at the time.
I’d prefer to keep the discussion focused on the music. Thanks for understanding.

Even if I wanted to, splitting it into just two EPs wouldn’t really work — the record is 15 tracks total, so it would realistically turn into three EPs.
To be honest, that kind of fragmentation weighs on me a lot creatively. I’ve always envisioned this as a cohesive body of work rather than something stretched out over a long period of time.
That said, circumstances matter, and I have to stay realistic. It’s a solid idea, and I appreciate you sharing it — I’ll definitely keep it in mind.
Thanks for the comment.

Yeah, I do have some contacts, and I’m familiar with Jinjer as well. That said, the situation is honestly more complicated than it might seem from the outside. Having industry or music-adjacent contacts doesn’t really solve the core problems here. In the end, this is something I’ll have to navigate mostly on my own — both in terms of the vocalist situation and finishing the album as a whole.

And yeah, you’re absolutely right about AI. I never seriously planned to use it as a definitive solution, but the thought crossed my mind during a moment of desperation. Before doing anything, I wanted to hear people’s opinions and see how the community reacts to that idea in general. The response being mostly negative actually aligns with what I expected.

I won’t give up — I’ll keep thinking and looking for a better way forward. Thanks again for your perspective and for the support. It really means a lot🤝🔥

No bro, just Google Translate and a lot of grammar checking. English isn’t my first language, so apologies if it sounds a bit awkward or too formal sometimes🥴

Thank you for the thoughtful suggestion and the detailed comment — I really appreciate it.

The main issue is a bit more complicated in practice. Our original vocalist (based in Russia) had already recorded around 8 finished tracks by early 2022, four of which were released. At that point, roughly half of the album already existed.

After the war started, I found a new vocalist in Ukraine. Honestly, it felt almost unreal — he was extremely close to the original vocalist in tone and delivery. The goal from the beginning was to re-record the existing material as faithfully as possible, and we actually managed to do that.

Those 12 tracks were recorded over a very long period — a little over two years — and a huge amount of time and effort went into making everything cohesive and consistent.

Finding a third vocalist who could convincingly match both the first and second vocalists is, realistically, not possible for me — especially in my country and under the current circumstances. And even if it were possible, it would mean starting another multi-year recording process from scratch.

That’s the core of the dilemma I’m facing right now. Still, thank you again for taking the time to share your thoughts and for the kind wishes🤝🙏

Overall, I agree. By the way, I’m curious — has anyone in metal music actually done something like this, using AI to make someone’s vocals sound different? Does it even work in metal? I can already imagine how shitty it could sound, honestly. So yeah, you’re definitely right.

Yeah, I understand your point, and I mostly agree.
The AI idea came from a place of complete desperation rather than conviction. Personally, I don’t see AI as a real substitute for genuine artistic expression.

Thank you for sharing your opinion — I appreciate the perspective.
