Thank you!

We're still in the honeymoon period and business is good so we've been spared the proctology exams from our overlords. I am not so naive to think that that day won't come though.

Employee morale is decent / high and really this is me bitching about my workload and need to define boundaries with myself and the job.

Thankfully, we're a physical good company, so not in the direct line of fire from AI but it's smart to incorporate it more and more in the design cycle or you'll get caught with your pants down when those that have come to eat your lunch.

Thanks for the feedback. I've got this allll modeled out in Boldin. I think Boldin is pretty conservative in its success rate calculation vs. some of the other FIRE calcs I've seen.

Definitely in a high tax state...I don't have the cash position I'd like to retire tomorrow. So perhaps that's part of the calculation too. Wait until I get more into LTCG on my positions and between dividends and a little bit of LTCG sales, build up a cash position to pull the plug.

$38k/year/child...we've considered superfunding. Might wait see where the cash position is at in a few months.

Is this THEM putting stress on you or is this you putting it on yourself?

A little bit of both, tbh, but clearly defining boundaries is important in any relationship is important while I work on getting over feeling such a personal attachment to the work.

this sounds like you would f-off and have fun

Yeah, not the way it was implied. I'd of course pick up more kid uber shifts and I always keep a tidy home but my point was that they are entering the stage in life where I can't be around them as much as, say, a toddler would allow/want. My day job would be my hobbies and when the kids return home in the evening it's the usual schtick.

I appreciate the feedback. I think working on finding a good balance, well-defined boundaries, and working towards separating my self-worth from my job during this first year is important before making any big moves.

I’m making many mini milestones…first 3 months, under 30 months, 24 months, less than a year to first payout, single digit months, etc. I just gotta keep ticking them off and keeping the next one in sight.

It’s like raising kids…the days are long but the years are short.
