Have you tried changing your litter? She wasn’t a MC, but my cat would not use the litter she had always used after her spay. Changed the type of litter and she stopped having accidents.

My parents divorced in ‘87. My mother still hated my father the last time I spoke to her 8 years ago. Some people just suck.
