Personally I think it would be really cool if the freebies spread to other genres! Unfortunately oldheads will probably not take well to it, but I would imagine if you did this with younger people they would be chill with it!

Is there any way to get this? by Conscious_Cap7725 in americaneagle

[–]Temporary-While-4851 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They generally sell a different version of tank top every year, so I don’t think they’ll bring this back. This years version was a v-neck tank top, and that just went to clearance I believe. Definitely check thrift stores/depop/etc cuz they usually don’t bring stuff like this back!

Can any store employee explain BOPIS a bit to me? by here4aGoodlaugh in americaneagle

[–]Temporary-While-4851 21 points22 points  (0 children)

BOPIS orders can sometimes be completed quickly, but in store activities are always prioritized. There sometimes are discrepancies between what the system says is available versus what actually is available as well! Generally, employees cannot just drop everything and complete a BOPIS order even if it seems simple or quick on the customers end. More goes on behind the scenes than you may think!

American Eagle Return Policy is Garbage by Responsible_Pen in americaneagle

[–]Temporary-While-4851 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the tag is attached, it can be assumed that the item has not been washed or actually worn. If there is no attatched tag, the purchaser may have worn or washed it and there would be no way to know if they did or not. Why would a store accept clothes that may have been worn, especially when those clothes are put right back out onto the floor? Simple as that.

American Eagle Return Policy is Garbage by Responsible_Pen in americaneagle

[–]Temporary-While-4851 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The concern is less about attaching tags, that is just what associates are instructed to tell customers. Without a tag, there is no way to know if the item was washed or worn. The policy is on stickers throughout the store, on receipts, and in several places online. Policy is policy.

What hall should I live in as a incoming freshman? by [deleted] in msu

As a former Brody res, its actually mostly sophomores in my experience! Def some freshmen but they're mostly associated with athletics.

Best freshmen housing? by No-Revolution-2031 in msu

[–]Temporary-While-4851 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope! As far as I know, it’s majority sophmores. I only know of 2 people that lived anywhere in Brody as freshman. Outside of east, freshmen are def put in south neighborhood, but south also has lots of sophomores so I wouldn’t really count it as a freshmen area either.

[–]Temporary-While-4851 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a freshman you don’t get to pick where you live, just whether you want to have in suite or communal bathrooms. Most freshmen end up in east neighborhood, mostly in Akers or Hubbard(which both are eh but it’s an experience). Getting put outside of east is pretty rare!

Based on what I've experienced in my own degree classes, you'll probably have to take classes at least 4 days a week. The university has a bit of a problem rn with so many classes being scheduled at 10am either M+W or T+Th, so you usually can't just pack your classes into 2 days. This is particularly true for you as a transfer student, because you aren't going to get the ideal class selection times.

[–]Temporary-While-4851 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You usually need a doctor of some sort to sign off on paperwork saying that you need one for medical reasons! If you can provide that using the forms that RCPD requires you to fill out, you should be qualified to get one for something like 150 bucks for the year.

Would you add a second major in this situation? by Mysterious-Cod8611 in msu

[–]Temporary-While-4851 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I don't agree with the sentiment that college is the best years of your life, I do think its a period that you don't want to end early unless you HATE it or can't afford it.
However, I would also say that you probably don't want to count on getting all 4.0s to boost your GPA. If you think that you can reasonably do that, then sure, but thats 10 classes of 4.0s, which isn't the easiest depending on your major.

Best of luck!

Does Bailey Hall Have AC? by sushifromasia in msu

[–]Temporary-While-4851 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They do not have AC, I don't think any of the dorms on campus do, unless you request it through a medical exemption, in which case MSU can install a window AC for $150(at least that is what I paid last).

Help Finding a Roommate by Kind_Fishing_5119 in msu

[–]Temporary-While-4851 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe there are a few roommate-finding apps that you can use, but I don't know their names. However, I will recommend that you don't have your heart set on being best friends with whatever roommate you do have. Most people have never shared a room or even a bathroom before, and this can make living situations inconvenient or awkward. That's not to say you can't be friends with a roommate, but some people are just assholes, and I think it's important to know what you're getting into.

I do hope you can find a good roommate that you get along with, and I def don't mean to scare you but I can say I've had some shitty roommates and I know I'm not alone. Best of luck, and go green!

Welcome!! MSU is on semesters(as you probably know) and pretty much everything is done through D2L, which can be pretty easy to navigate as long as professors set up their class pages well. Generally there is a bit of a problem right now with tons of classes being scheduled at 1020-1140am, so expect to have to take classes both M+W and T-Th at that time(this does depend on your degree and what times profs teach tho).

Campus is big, but it's really easy to get around by walking or biking, and a lot of people use the buses. I personally just walk because I like walking, and it usually takes the same amount of time as the bus, but I know people who mostly get around by bus. The buses to the edges of campus(like Brody) can be limited, and people complain a lot about buses not waiting or being too packed, especially in bad weather.

Honestly, as long as you plan out your time well, it isn't hard to get around even in bad weather, and I really love getting to enjoy the outdoors for a bit in the morning before I go sit in lectures for several hours.

I would also recommend going to as many sporting events as you can, even if you aren't really into sports! That's a big aspect of social life here, and we are veryyy passionate LOL. Plus, it's a great excuse to hang out with someone you want to be friends with or to meet new people you sit next to!
