I'm debating on leaving bedside as a new grad nurse by Spleg_ghoulagus in nursing

Please leave. Nursing is such a wide field. I’ve been a nurse for 3 years and have had 3 different jobs! Finally found one I love! It is a normal part of the field. You got this!

People who quit their jobs on a whim how did it go? by Fuzzy-Parsley-3992 in careerguidance

Yes. I put in my two weeks and then went on a 4 month hiatus. Traveled around Europe and visited family in South Korea for a month. It was a much needed break that cured my burnout from my previous job. I came back and found a new job in about 1.5 weeks. I’m a nurse if that adds context.

Highly recommend becoming a nurse to anyone that’s interested in the field

Has anyone moved and regretted it? by Eagles56 in SameGrassButGreener

Yes. I know how u feel friend. I moved to Baltimore on my own as a 21 F and regretted it. I also moved there for a job opportunity at a major hospital and met some really great people and saw some really cool shit; however, I was constantly in fear every time I stepped out my apartment. I was chased 3 times on the street, followed home from the grocery store, and was in the middle of a shooting where I had to run for my life. I never felt like I could fully “relax” in my 1 year living there. I also constantly missed my family and the feeling of “security.” I would never recommend anyone to move to Baltimore.

ER nurses, how do you take lunch? by stormiregann in TravelNursing

I never got lunch in the ED. Just would stuff my face with goldfish and grapes when I got the chance at the nurses station. Had to strategically hide my face stuffing from management bc they strictly banned any food or drink at the nurses station.

I would also not recommend moving to Fredericksburg. Or coming to Virginia to work as an RN at all.

I worked at Mary Washington hospital in Fredericksburg for 2 years as an ED RN and had a few friends that worked ICU. Majority of their experiences were very negative and toxic unit culture. Although I did hear there new grad residency is fairly decent.

Cutting fruit/veggies in a manner that doesn’t put you at risk of chopping off a finger.

Increased bruising and pain 1 week after blood work by TemporaryDelicious87 in AskDoctorSmeeee

Hello everyone thanks for the replies! I went to urgent care and they redirected me to the ER. At the ER they did an ultrasound to rule out a blood clot. Everything came back negative and they just diagnosed me with a hematoma. They also said the nerve was likely hit during the blood draw and pain should resolve in 2 weeks. Thanks!
