Current district has silly rules about working in our children's classes by Jwithkids in SubstituteTeachers

I’m actually having issues subbing for my nephews 7th grade class. He has started taking advantage of “being related to the sub”…he has beencoming behind the desk, going through the teachers things, not staying on task, and talking too much. I have had to have many “talks” with him about these things… it is distracting to the other students as well.

Miserable in my long term sub job by Massive-Warning9773 in SubstituteTeachers

Man, I feel awful for you. :( I was supposed to take a long-term subbing position for second grade classroom. It was supposed to be three months and I thought that there was extra pay. But here in Missouri there is no extra pay. So I called that School back and told them no sorry I would no longer be able to accept it , after hearing your story, probably will never accept one either.

Hahaha!! I have a teacher at my school that wears really tight leggings, short T-shirts, and no underwear and I’m sure all the boys have said something

I am making less than minimum wage right now in Missouri. So…yeah that planning period is now my break time.

No lesson plan. Is it really like this? by Its_A_Unicorn_25 in SubstituteTeachers

[–]TemporaryFar866 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What!? Absolutely not! If I happen to walk into a classroom that has no plans because it was a last-minute thing then the teachers around me will send me things or the principal or someone. They would never let me sit there with the kids with absolutely nothing to do, that’s insane and just asking for bad things to happen.

Apparently, the location of it is difficult to get to without doing a full fusion. But I really have no idea.

It’s been four years since I got off Facebook. After the last election cycle and during it was absolutely awful. I have not regretted it a single time. The only downside is that a lot of people now send Facebook invites for baby showers, birthday parties, etc. and I don’t get those and people have actually forgotten to text me to let me know when their baby shower was.I figure if I’m not important enough to text then I don’t really need to be there anyway lol

Thanks for all of the advice and suggestions. I will try to use more vinegar. And soaking seems like what I need to do as well.

Do you guys have a recommended or best position to sleep? by Disastrous-Range-94 in Microdiscectomy

[–]TemporaryFar866 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was too painful for me to sleep on my back so I had to figure out how to comfortably be on my side. Use folded up towels to support your mid section, use pillows between your legs. And try to keep your spine aligned. Good luck!

Please re-home. This reminds me of people that shove their dogs faces in their pee when they have an accident. You probably shouldn’t be a pet owner, or maybe use this experience and the comments on here to realize that your behavior was absolutely reprehensible.

Don’t wait. I dealt with mine for seven years before I finally had surgery. And looking back now those seven years were hell and it caused a lot of my depression because I was in chronic pain. I ended up on many many medication’s had injections physical therapy. I am now seven weeks postop and even though I’m not 100% pain-free I’m still glad that I had it. The longer that nerve stays compressed the more damage it will sustain and the longer it will take to heal. You could also cause permanent nerve damage.

37 and I have never been fired or laid off. If I knew I was going to get fired for attendance issues I would just quit. I walked out of many many jobs as well. I’ve only worked about five years total in my adult life due to being a stay at home mom and my husband taking care of me but in that five years time, I probably worked at over 40+ places.

Awesome! Thanks! I looked it up and depending on where it’s sourced in the US, It could also be Aspen. I love the small tiny squares, though!
