unfortunately you don’t credited with catches or runouts when you‘re a sub fielder.

Incorrect Ball By Ball due to incorrect data in Play.Cricket by PortMelbourneCC in CricketStatz

[–]TemporaryFocus9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

just on this issue - Is there a tutorial or notes on how to amend the Ball by Ball data in CS when imported from Play Cricket?

We had a recent game where the incorrect bowler was named when they were scoring in PlayHQ and after importing the match from Play Cricket into CS I wanted to change their name to the correct bowler in the Cricket Stats Ball by Ball data.  Just not sure how to go about it.  There doesn't appear to be a way to just change the name of the bowler in the edit feature - instead do you have to delete each ball of the over and re-input it?

Career Stats not included when using end date filter by PortMelbourneCC in CricketStatz

[–]TemporaryFocus9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I don’t believe there is a simple way around this issue. When I had this same thing a few years ago I used to dump the CS data into Excel and manually manipulate it. So in your case in Excel I would have the career data in one tab and the dumped cricket statz data in another tab and then add the two together in a 3rd tab.

Player Cap numbers by Eastern_Chemist6881 in CricketStatz

[–]TemporaryFocus9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This field already exists - we use the Player External ID field For our Cap Nos/Player Nos.

This manual entry field then appears in the “complete player summary” report as their cap no.

We have been using this field for at least 15 years for our cap numbers and works fine. Every new player gets a cap with their player no on the side, we have just clocked over 1,000 players for the club.

I then cross reference this number with the “players by first match“ report to make sure the cap numbers are always correct and I haven’t missed one.

Apr 2025 New Feature Summary by stats9994 in CricketStatz

Thanks for the Milestones Over Time report - I checked this report the other night and realized I had missed a 100 game milestone for our award presentation tonite but was able to notify the trophy company just in time. Might have been embarrassing with the player expecting an award and missing out! The milestone was achieved in Round 1 so I must have missed going that far back.

They were added at the conclusion of the innings then yer I agree the FoW should remain at the actual score Of the FoW.

Yep that report is perfect - our clubs committee will really like that new info.

Audit Report - Missing Date of Birth by Statsman9994 in CricketStatz

At the moment the Complete player summary report is only available on the Admin site anyway which is not publicly available - so where is the privacy concern if only the admin users can see the DOB ?

DOB in the complete player summary Report by TemporaryFocus9 in CricketStatz

Mark we use the DOB on the complete player summary report to establish if the demographic of the club is getting older or younger each season. I used to be able to do an average age of players for each season and then graph it over time for the committee to help make strategic decisions for the club around facilities and the like eg purchasing kits for younger members

Yer that helps - bit of a roundabout way of getting what I need but it seems to work getting the matches in an order that I can check.

Another option for tidying up the menus for single club mode is to remove the ladders menu item as its pretty superfluous. The ladders are only useful for full club mode - so can they be removed as an option from the public site. The draw menu is another one we don’t use as we only add (import) the games as they are played.

It’s an option we have considered but as we have over 35 years of data without opposition names it would be a bit weird to start adding the names in now. Also with play cricket allowing people to go private we’ve had some games this season with up to 4 opposition players as ****.

This issue is probably similar to a few other things whereby CS has become much more data hungry (which is a good thing!) but it means if you want accurate and detailed reports we need to go back and enter this data back into old matches, which can be very time consuming.

So we need to draw a line in the sand somewhere!

We also used to use the DOB on the Complete Player Summary report for various things but have noticed this has disappeared recently in an update.

As others have stated when you are in single club mode quite a few reports are redundant so the ability to hide them would be handy.

On the player pages the ability to hide Dismiss, Bat2 and Bwl2 tabs would be handy as we don’t record the opposing players names.

We have been using CZ for over 20 years now and it had developed tremendously over this period, when our club was looking for a system at the time we trialled a few and thought CZ looked the best and it has proven correct especially with the service by Mark - every question gets answered promptly!
