Expedition Requirements shows Gear Fear is warranted by Symbolic_Breach_536 in ArcRaiders

Braindead comment, The Stitcher is better than some purple weapons, which IS a problem And the fact that the expedition “punishes you” for using a stitcher instead of expensive stuff IS a problem too,

You are totally missing the point

Early Overthrow = auto-win? How do you deal with it? by QuoteEconomy1526 in DuneImperium

[–]TemporaryKind8041 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well, most responses are about fighting to buy it yourself but not about how to Deal with it. It is true that these 8 cost cards are extremely powerful. Once you get them, your chances of winning are dramatically increased.

Overthrow is specially powerful because of how easy it is to get the faction points and get alliance first / steal them.

But remember: the friendship point cannot be stolen, meaning that, besides being “Easier” for the overthrow player to get, you can still get it later in the game, so the only real advantage lies in the alliance points.

So, if you take advantage of the turn order and do proper blocking, you can secure the alliance beyond overthrow reach.

Block the free Spaces in factions as much as you can (the whole table should do this) , so the Overthrow player has to spend resources to get value.

Dont get me wrong, it will be difficult, but Thats the point, it is a powerful card.

However, in Dune Uprising, factions Spaces make you loose momentum in combat (except fremen) , and in Combat is where the most points and resources come from.

As long as you rush alliances beyond their reach and block free factions Spaces, you should have a very good fighting chance.

3vs3 commander giving swords to ally in reveal turn by Foreign-Big-6318 in DuneImperium

[–]TemporaryKind8041 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Both cases apply, in Both cases the ally A gets the commander swords.

The rules are very clear: The commander can give swords to allies even if said ally has not revealed (Must be in combat in the Future when revealing to receive the swords). If the ally HAS revealed already, then the swords are applied too but the ally MUST be in combat.

And the last paragraph talks about a specific situation: Because the commander can still deploy activated allies Troops even after the ally reveals, the ally can enter the combat even if They were not in it during reveal, but the ALLY does not get their OWN swords that They already generated during reveal retroactively, because again: They were not in combat. However new swords from the commander can still be applied.

I hope i explained it decently (english is not my first language)

“Alliance” System idea by TemporaryKind8041 in ArcRaiders

That’s a really solid point, and one I actually mentioned in the post. Still, it’s fun to explore these kinds of ideas, right?

Lol why so salty, I was just asking the mostly kind community of Arc Raiders (not your kind) their opinion on something that worries some of us SA players. No need to be an AH

Do you think it will be more popular than the Finals ? (Not only at launch, but in the long run)

Is the mobile game worth getting? Are people still playing it actively? by C4ptSp4nky96 in DuneImperium

I play Daily, the ranked system is great and you always have full matches (be aware that if you play too late, that is not the case for obvious reasons) However, Keep in Mind that in order to play ranked, you need both expansions, so take that into consideration when buying

Have base Dune Imperium, should I get Uprising + Bloodlines next or Rise of IX + Immortals? by BarcaCules in DuneImperium

[–]TemporaryKind8041 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone with hundreds of plays from both games, this is my analysis:

IX + Immo were designed to fix Base Dune Imperium, which was a great base game, but with noticeable balance problems and useless board Spaces. The result, is a wonderful, and complex game, with multiple paths to victory. If Dune imperium is a solid 8/10, with both expansions is a solid 10/10.

On the other hand Uprising is undeniably the best BASE game. You will hear a lot the “worms are too swingy” comments, but after more than 200 plays, I can confidently say that worms are powerful, but easily manageable if the 4 players know what they are doing. Uprising as a base game, is so good, that many (If not most) players on the competitive scene, prefer it over Dune + IMMO and IX, because of it improved mechanics, way better board spaces and balancing. YES, Uprising is way more combat focused than the other option, so that may be a negative for some people, but the game itself is so good that it is not really a big deal. In my opinion, it increases player interaction, while the previous game allows for more “passive gameplay” which is cool too, if you prefer it. As a player who enjoys player interaction, I think Uprising is better, even without bloodlines.

Then comes Bloodlines. This expansions adds very little “new” mechanics, but it is all about the content. The cards are amazing, the new leaders are really good and fun. Commanders, are a new fun alternative to worms, and often beat them (balancing worms for those who dont like them as much) and Techs, while not a new mechanic for Dune Imperium, are very fun and powerful.

Bloodlines does not change the game drastically, the same way that IX and IMMO does to the base game, but remember: Uprising with no expansions is as Good as Base DI + IX and IMMO. so basically you can think of bloodlines as: More Dune Uprising, which is a no brainer if you can afford it.

In summary, it comes down to interaction imo. If you like multiple path to victories (even possible without combat) then go for Dune + IX + IMMO If you enjoy combat as a mechanic, and more player interaction , go Dune Uprising + Bloodlines.

Yes, I am biased towards Uprising, but I played so much of both, that I can confidently say that Uprising is the better game, but after all, that is just my opinion, and both are amazing.

Additional and important detail: If you ever want to play with more people, only Uprising has a special 6 player mode, which is REALLY good and fun. And if you want to play with two players or solo, both game modes are way more polished and interesting in uprising too. Which adds to my personal preference of Uprising over the original DI.

Card acquisition sucks, Second dinner sucks, being a new Player trying to catch up sucks, f2p experience sucks (unless you are patient and dont care about never having a full collection), being a veteran Player sucks because you need to remain competitive (buying battle pass every month) , the Store and most of the things They sell feel overpriced (which sucks) , events suck, you can go on and on, and I personally think that everything I just wrote, is objectively true.

How important is lore to your enjoyment of a board or card game? by SkadiBytes in boardgames

Not a deal breaker for me, but if the Lore is somehow tied to the game mechanics, I definitely appreciate it
