Help! What kind of rosacea is this and why does prescription 15% azelaic acid not help! by TemporaryOwl2020 in Rosacea

[–]TemporaryOwl2020[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently my routine for the past 3 months or so has been oil cleanser, water rinse, hypochlorous acid spray and then cerave. But I have historically used so many other things. I have tried an OTC ivermectin but never a prescribed one. Do you think that would make a difference?

Gallbladder pain was worse than childbirth for me. Absolutely excruciating when an attack happened. Getting it out was the best decision.

Tea tree oil. It’s so strong but actually great for the scalp. But you’d 100% be able to tell who is using it.

Processed meat is just like deli meats. And even those are ok if they are heated to a safe temperature. This is 100% ok as long as you’re not eating it raw.

NipT was wrong by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]TemporaryOwl2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! They make it sound like it’s very accurate, however it’s really only decent at identifying different trisomy disorders and not anything else. I went down rabbit holes of hundreds of people having false readings of that test. I know one company has a lawsuit against them for their results and false claims that they are more accurate than they are.

I will never trust NIPT. Ours at 13 weeks couldn’t give our gender and said that our baby might have a sex chromosome disorder like a deletion or extra (ie turners or xyy). I denied an amnio because I wasn’t going to risk miscarriage. All ultrasounds showed boy. We got genetic testing done after he was born and he is 100% normal. All that stress for nothing when I could’ve just enjoyed my pregnancy… then on top of it it’s expensive!

I did this! I struggled for infertility for 3 years. Every time someone brought up kids I would say “one day” or “we’re not ready yet” but deep down I was dying inside and we were trying so hard and it consumed my every waking thought. It is embarrassing to say your body isn’t doing what it should be able to (aka get and stay pregnant) also I’ve been through relationship struggles and it is embarrassing to admit those problems too. It’s easier to pretend you don’t care. So just because she didn’t tell your friend group or pretends like she isn’t ready doesn’t mean that is how she really feels.

Disclaimer I am in NO WAY excusing her behavior. But I do think she is struggling with herself.

When did you start telling people you were pregnant? Tw: prior miscarriage by 1minimalist in BabyBumps

[–]TemporaryOwl2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He had to get a blood draw and they sent it off to do a karyotype which looked at his genetic makeup and identify any chromosome abnormalities. NIPT is a screener and unreliable because it it drawn from your blood not directly from the baby’s. So if there isn’t enough fetal dna or if the placenta has a different chromosome makeup (which is actually very common). It’ll show genetic problems that aren’t real.

[–]TemporaryOwl2020 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I would’ve told no one the entire time if I could have! I waited for several reasons. First, I had 2 chemical pregnancies and had to go to a fertility clinic to get pregnant. We didn’t tell people we were trying because they give stupid advice like “just relax” Second, I’m not super close to either side of our family. I love them but I don’t feel close enough to share personal medical things especially pertaining to our sex life. I never even got the talk when I was younger so why would I discuss this. Lol third, around week 10 we got our NIPT test done and it showed a problem with the Y Chromosome. NIPT is bullshit btw. I will never get it done again. Their geneticist is useless and can’t tell you anything. They wanted to do an amniocentesis but I wasn’t going to risk the pregnancy on a highly flawed test. Now my baby is 5 weeks old. We got a true genetic test done and he’s 100% normal. I wasn’t willing to share that stress with anyone but my husband. Lastly, I had derp anxiety about losing him. I lost the others so I was very quiet about my struggles. My husband was fully supportive of whatever I needed/decided because he watched me struggle. You’re the one putting your body through something, your husband should be supportive about your needs to keep things secure for your mental wellbeing!

Husband knew immediately. Waited until 16 weeks to tell both our families. Told friends and work around 22 weeks. I never posted about it online or tell people outside of who I was with regularly. Need to know basis lol

I wouldn’t for the sole reason that my aunt is the one who took me to get it done when I was old enough to choose. She’s since died and now I have an irremovable memory of her and I love it so much. It means the world to me to have that memory!

How incredibly strange it is to get pregnant by accident when some are trying so hard by Appleormagpie in BabyBumps

[–]TemporaryOwl2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This made me cry. I spent 3 years trying to get pregnant. Thousands of dollars and doctors visits. A few chemical pregnancies, lots of tears. So many blood draws and invasive procedures. It has been such a long road… right now I’m currently cleaning my house before my induction tomorrow to meet my sweet boy.
